For the majority of my life, I have been the “typical conservative:” I opposed “bleeding heart liberals” and supported law and order and a strong military. But I’ve come to understand that there is a difference between Progressives and even the new Liberal, and that the new liberal is not necessarily an enemy of individual rights and liberty. A while back, I wrote a post in which I referred to those who intentionally deceived the American people in the process of pushing the Affordable Care Act as evil. I do not apologize for that assertion. My understanding is that the Devil is the father of lies and deception and that God is not capable of either. However, a reader made a comment that got me to thinking about what I had written and why I believed as I did. I’d like to share what I have concluded as a result of her comment, but first, I want to make it perfectly clear that I am in no way passing any judgment on her. The last thing I wish to do is pass judgment on another person’s heart, and nothing she said leads me to believe she is at all part of what I am about to address. For some time, I have been seeking to make my will closer to that of the Lord’s: to make His will my own. This has found me struggling to understand His will, which has taught me that I must first seek to change my own understanding of everything I thought I knew. Thanks to my training in philosophy, I was aware that I knew very little, but my journey to get closer to God and to do God’s will has taught me that – until just recently – everything I thought I knew was wrong. One of the primary messages found in John 7 is that the person who seeks to do God’s will is better equipped to recognize Truth when they hear it. In the debate leading up to Obamacare, many people tried to warn America that it was not what its supporters claimed, and the majority of them were attacked, demonized and – to the extent that the media and other supporters of Obamacare could manage – destroyed. Now that it is in operation, real world events are showing that the majority of those warnings were the Truth. Climate Change Advocates Attempt To Shut Down Debate By Censoring Opposition
Those who have read my blog posts for any length of time have run across my assertion than, to the secular humanists among us, ‘science’ is their religion. To those who truly understand it, science is nothing more than a tool and – like all tools – it has its limitations. But to those who chose to reject Him, science has taken the place of God. This is why people who have placed their faith in science react so violently to anyone who challenges their ‘scientific’ certainties. To them, it is heresy. This is never more clear than when hard evidence is presented that challenges their beliefs. If they truly understood science – real science – they would re-examine those beliefs. But instead, they most often react by rejecting that evidence and attacking those who present it. Were science a recognized religion, this reaction would be consistent with dogma. Well, we have more evidence of that science is the religion of the secular humanist in the news with how these so-called science followers are reacting to challenges over climate change.
