This saying may be better known in military circles, but it is still a principle of logic: when someone threatens you, always take what they say at face value.  Had we done this in the 1930’s, then we could have read “Mein Kampf” and we would have known exactly what Hitler had planned for the world and — maybe — the world would have moved to stop him.  But we did not listen, and those who did refused to take Hitler at his word.  Russia threatened to take America from within.  We did not listen.  In fact, in the 1960’s, we ridiculed those who were trying to get us to take the Soviet threat seriously.  Today we know that every person McCarthy accused of being a Communist actually was a Communist.  What’s more, the Communist agenda has been so thoroughly advanced by the Democrat Party that the Communist Party.  Had we honored the threat, we might not be in such bad condition today.  Sadly, man just refuses to learn, and because we refuse to learn, we are — yet again — turning a blind eye and deaf ear to the threats being aimed at us.  However, this time is different.  This time, we are ignoring the most dangerous threat the world has ever faced: a threat that, if it is not stopped, will devour the entire globe. No matter where we stand on the political spectrum, we all have a tendency to look at the policies and actions of our leaders and conclude that they are either incompetent or insane.  Now, logically, this is a possibility, however, it is probably the last conclusion we should make because it is a conclusion produced by lazy thinking.  I submit that, before we toss things up to incompetence or insanity, it would be better if we look for a frame of reference from which a given policy or action makes sense.  We have all heard the saying “context, context, context.”  Well, that is all I am suggesting: that we look for a world view (context) that makes sense of the things we see as incompetence or insanity, then draw our conclusions.  If you will allow me, I’d like to use this article to illustrate my argument: “Saying Merry Christmas is Worse than Murder!”

In His infinite wisdom, the Lord saw fit to make me a teacher within the Church.  But more than this, He blessed me by placing me in a class filled with believers who love the Lord, but who are also acutely attuned to the events in this world.  I know I am where I am supposed to be and doing what I am supposed to be doing because of the changes I have seen God make in me since He placed me in this position.  I have always been politically minded, and way to proud and arrogant for my own good, but I knew enough Scripture to know that teachers will be held to a higher standard.  I also feared the Lord enough that, when He placed me in this position, I was properly motivated to start studying God’s Word for the first time in my life.  I did not want to teach wrongly.  As I studied, God started to show me how to better deal with the things of this world according to His Ways.  But, more importantly, He showed me how to feed the political part of the believers He had placed in my care while, at the same time, helping them learn to stay focused on Christ.  It was because of this that I knew, the Sunday after the Syrian refugee issue boiled over, I knew my class would be looking to me for a little guidance on how we should react to this issue.  It’s just that I don’t think they were expecting the lesson or the assignments I gave them.  If you would allow me, I’d like to share it with you, as well. First, I want the read to know that I do not write this post to attack or malign, but to help those who wish to know the Truth to understand why there can be no such thing as a ‘moderate’ Muslim.  You will encounter many voices that will claim this is not true.  They will say that there are more ‘moderate’ Muslims (i.e. peaceful) than ‘radical’ Muslims (i.e. terrorists), and that anyone who says otherwise is being a bigot or hateful.  Other voices will claim that these ‘moderate’ Muslims should not be painted with the same brush as the ‘radical’ Muslims.  Sadly, all these voices speak from complete ignorance, and in supposedly self-governing nations like the majority of those in the West, this level of ignorance is criminally negligent, and bordering on treasonous.  Why can I say this with confidence that I am speaking the Truth?  Because I know that Muhammad is the sole and, therefore, only authority on what Islam is, and I know what Muhammad said about who is and is not a Muslim. Now there is a haunting public call with apparent support for Marxism via socialism. A “new” Americanized “ism” to “give” free college, free healthcare, and a living wage. Those who make these unicorn promises know what they do. Do their supporters understand the requirements? Marxism is the umbrella from which socialism, communism, and fascism are born. These 3 ism’s are merely different paths to the same endpoint. I know I hammer Glenn Beck a lot on this page, and I make no apology for it.  In fact, unless and until Beck stops advancing false teachings and shows true signs of repentance, I will continue to hammer on him.  This is because he is leading others astray by deliberately twisting the Lord’s Word.  How do I know it is deliberate?  Because he posts things like this picture on his Face Book page, with the implication that he is among the persecuted.

I have a friend who is in a Spiritual crisis, but she cannot see it.  I tried — as gently as I knew how — to help her see it.  In return, my friend denied that they are in crisis and viciously attacked me.  My friend said that my attempt to show they were  in a Spiritual crisis proved that I was not their friend.  My friend even said I was telling them they are not a Christian.  I did not want to make matters worse, so I left my friend to themself, but I have been reflecting on this exchange ever since.  It’s been a couple weeks now, and what I have learned is that my friend is not alone.  In fact, a majority in the Western world are in the exact same Spiritual crisis as my friend, and they are just as blind.  The crisis of which I speak is Caesar worship: or, in modern terms, the worship of man in the form of government. Cursed is the one who moves his neighbor’s landmark.

God’s Word speaks directly against those who move boundary stones.  In fact, God’s Word goes so far as to say that those who move boundary stones are to be cursed.  I marvel at how lightly we take the underlying principle in this part of God’s Word.  Even among those who profess to be believers, there is a profound lack of understanding.  God is not speaking about trivial matters.  If He was, He would not say that the people who break this command are to be cursed.  But then, I wonder how many understand or even care about what it means to be cursed or accursed.  If I go strictly by what I see people doing (sadly, this includes many professed believers), then I would be forced to conclude that the majority of people in our society either do not know how to recognize the foundational principle underlying God’s command not to move boundary markers, or worse, they simply do not care… Continue reading “Beware Those Who Move Boundary Stones!” →

I am troubled to the core of my soul over this topic.  I want to support this man.  So much of what he says and the way he says it resonates with me.  I am profoundly grateful for all he has taught me about American history.  I have come to think of him as a friend.  To be totally honest, I love the man.  Yet, I have a profound fear that he is leading people away from the Lord, not to Him.  Today is October 5, 2015.  In the first hour of his radio show, he made light of people who stress the meaning of words.  He said word to the effect of “Well, I’m sorry if I don’t say things exactly enough for you.”  It is precisely this attitude that lies at the heart of my concern with Beck because it means he is preaching a message of peace and unity that is based in a profound sense of arrogance.  Yes, I am saying that Beck’s apparent humility is false.  The man is as arrogant as they come, but he is also blind to his arrogance.  Now, before you accuse me of wrongly judging Glenn and tune me out, let me confess that I am saying this as one who is guilty of the exact same arrogance.  The only difference between Beck and myself is that God took the scales from my eyes and now I see how arrogant I have been most of my life.  I write now, not as one claiming the authority to judge Glenn Beck, but as one rescued from his own sin who seeks to explain the source of Beck’s arrogance to those who  have ears to hear… Continue reading “Glenn Beck Is Breaking My Heart” →
