LESSONS IN LOGIC: Calling Something ‘Hate Speech’ IS Hate Speech

We live in a society where it is increasingly popular to label something we do not like or want to hear as ‘hate speech.’  Then we seek to silence it based on the assumption that ‘hate’ should not be allowed.  The problem with this line of thinking is that it is actually worse than hate speech.  Not only is it a sign of hate in itself, but it is an actual action, which is far more harmful than mere words.

There was a time when the political Left in this country would have defended free speech.  They would have fought any attempt to censor someone as a violation of their rights.  But this was back when the political Left was weak; a minority force in the body politic.  This is no longer the case.  The political Left, or Progressivism, has now reached a parity with those who still seek to preserve the original principles and ideals of this nation: namely the preservation of individual rights and liberties.  Now that Progressivism has gained a position of power, it seeks to do what it always does — silence any and all opposition!

Historically, when trying to destroy a Judeo/Christian based Western society, this spirit of Progressivism has sought to do so by using some supposed claim of moral superiority.  This is why they argue the collective over the individual: because ignorant and improperly educated individuals will usually accept the fallacy that the good of the whole outweighs that of the few or the one.  This may be true in a society where the State is the only entity with rights, but in a society of free and self-governing people (i.e. individuals), it is a lie!  How can one argue for the protection of a minorty’s rights such as those of the LGBTV community while trampling on the rights of the individual?  How much smaller a minority can there be than the single person?  So, if someone is willing to trample on an individual’s rights in the name of protecting the rights of a ‘minority group,’ then they have demonstrated they don’t really care about minority rights at all.  That person is  furthering another agenda; a hidden agenda which is actually counter to the rights of every individual but the person pushing the protection of what is — in reality — a politically favored class of people.  This, my dear reader, is class warfare, and it has nothing to do with liberty.  It is all about control.

So, how is class warfare connected to the accusations of ‘hate speech?’  To understand the connection, you have to understand the process of the Progressive.  In other countries, where the people do not come from a tradition of individual rights and liberties,, those who seek to control others can simply do so at the point of a gun.  But where the people once embraced individual rights and liberty, it is not so easy to just take over.  So Progressives devised a strategy of taking over a little piece at a time.  They have been following this strategy for over a century, and, now, they are powerful enough that they can finally start exerting overt force over the people.  But they must silence any and all opposition to do so.  Otherwise, voices such as mine might expose them for what they are: despots and tyrants!

Therefore, once they have the power to enforce it –as they do now — Progressives will start to label voices such as mire as ‘hate.’  They will call it ‘racist,’ or ‘xenophobic‘ or whatever they need to make it seem like they are taking the moral high ground.  then they will use this assumed position of moral authority as an excuse to silence people because, after all, no one believes that people should be allowed to hate.  But look at what they are doing.  Because they hate people being free to live their own lives, they are willing to silence, imprison and even kill them.  How is that not actual hate?  How is it not hate to tell someone else they cannot think for themselves, or say what they think?  It seems to me that this is part of the very definition of hate — at least in connection to politics and liberty.

When they  label something as ‘hate’ and then make it illegal, they are actually saying they have a right to control every aspect of who you are.  You see, your most basic right is the right to your own self; to who you are.  This is your free will.  It is what you think, believe and feel.  This is a Natural Right which cannot be morally or justly taken from you.  Anyone who tries to do so is actually saying they own you.  After all, if they claim the power to tell you what you can and cannot think — if they claim the power of controlling thought crime — then they are claiming they have complete ownership of you!

So, if we are for silencing ‘hate speech,’ how can we say we are against slavery?  How much more can one claim to own another person than claiming the right to tell them what they can and cannot think or say?  And how, then, is it not hate to claim we not only own a person, but also their entire being — even their free will?

The conclusions are simple.  Either we fight anyone and everyone who seeks to silence free speech, or we concede that we really do not have a problem with slavery — just so long as we are one of the masters…

DEFENDING THE LANGUAGE: The Definition Of Xenophobia

If you have been reading anything political on Face Book or the blogosphere, you no doubt have seen the claim that those who are concerned about the changes being forced on their society by Islamic immigrants are ‘xenophobic.’  But are they?  Or do the people making these charges hiding something?

Full Definition of xenophobia

  1. :  fear and hatred of strangers or foreigners or of anything that is strange or foreign

On the surface, it might seem that the definition fits and that the people making these charges are correct, but surface appearances are often wrong!  This is why we must take the time to look deeper, beneath the surface.  When we do, we might find that, if there is xenophobia involved here, it is actually with those making the charges of xenophobia.

The first thing we must ask ourselves is do the people opposing the forced immigration of Muslims fear the people, or the effects that come with them?  I would hazard to guess that anyone who actually takes the time to look into this matter will find that those who oppose the forced importation of Muslims actually oppose the fact that Islam stands in direct opposition to their way of life — to include their laws.  This, then, is not hate or fear, but a natural reaction to what is actually an invasion and attack on their society and government.  To call these people xenophobic would be the same as calling Poland xenophobic for reacting to the German invasion in WW II.  Or, to put it in terms the accusers might better understand, if Brits or Americans are xenophobic for opposing the Islamic invasion of their countries, then the ‘Palestinians’ are xenophobic for opposing the Israelis!

The simple fact of the matter is that the desire to defend one’s nation, culture and way of life is neither ‘fear’ or ‘hate.’  But to attack those who seek to defend themselves may well be.  When a person lashes out at someone defending themselves, their family and their community, we have to consider their motivation.  Are they part of the force attacking that community?  Are they allied with the force attacking that community?  Or do they fear or hate that community, themselves?  I would submit that, in the case of forcing Muslim immigrants upon the West, it is the result of a fear or hatred for the Western way of life.  It is being done by people who have openly said their goal is to “fundamentally change America.”  In this case, that makes the people pointing the fingers the real xenophobes — and that is by definition!  In which case, that means it is not a matter of ‘opinion,’ or ‘interpretation,’ but of fact!

So, the next time you encounter the label of ‘xenophobe’ being hurled at someone who opposes the Islamic invasion of their society (and it is an invasion), ask yourself whether the person making that accusation is just an ignorant fool who does not know what the words means, or are they part of the force that actually wants to destroy the West?  If they are ignorant, maybe you can educate them.  But if they seek to destroy the Western world, then you have found yourself an actual xenophobe (not to mention a justification for those who are opposed to this invasion).

BTW: calling someone a name to silence them is a logical fallacy.  It is called Ad Hominem (or Against the Man).  Ad Hominem is almost always a sign that the person using it has lost the logical argument and has nothing left to use but brute force.  In this case, they are seeking to shame their opponent into shutting up and conceding what is most likely a logical victory.

There Comes A Point Where Ignorance Becomes Propaganda, And Propaganda Becomes An Open Attack!

I saw this on FaceBook:

13507081_1209271965791973_7601527329464566424_n

I responded to this by trying to explain to the person who posted it that the meme is propaganda: it gives a false understanding of the Crusades.  I supported my explanation with numerous links giving the true history of Islam and the Crusades.  Predictably, the guy deleted all but my last comment on his thread.  I’ll share that with you at the end of this post.  First, I want you to see what this person deleted.

The first thing we need to understand is that the Crusades were defensive in nature.  They were a response to an Islamic invasion of Europe.  In other words, the Crusades did not start this fire, they merely poured a little water on it.  How do we know this to be true?  By looking at history free from the twisting of those who wish to paint a distorted picture that suits their political agenda.  For example, if the Crusades started it, then how do we explain this?

1Sept1914BattleNeryWWI

This happened a long time before the Crusades started.  And while the Battle of Tours stopped Islamic expansion into France, it did not stop Islamic attacks on Europe.  The truth is, since Islam first burst forth out of Arabia, it has waged a Jihad against the West on an average of every fifty years:

[NOTE: the video will not post correctly, but you REALLY need to watch it — please]

Jihad in the West: Muslim Conquests from the 7th to the 21st Centuries

This is a fact!  It is not an ‘interpretation,’ a ‘distortion’ or a falsehood.  It is a matter of historic record that can be verified by consulting these records rather than the history books — which, for the most part, have been written by people who wish to distort the record to further their own political agendas.

The next thing we need to understand is that Islam is what ended Classic Civilization — not the Barbarians!  Islam also started slavery as we know it today.  In fact, Islam was the primary force behind the Viking raids.  The Vikings were looking for slaves to sell to the Muslims.  All of this has been known for more than a hundred years.  It was discovered by a man named Pirenne, who was actually looking at the historic records and not at the history books.  But Pirenne did not have access to modern Archeology.  If he had, it would not have been so easy for people to have dismissed him — as they did.  You see, modern archeology has shown that Pirenne was correct: Islam ended Classic Civilization!

Mohammed & Charlemagne Revisited: The History of a Controversy

Oh, but it gets even better.  The Bible actually predicts that Islam would be the final worldly empire to come against Israelnot a revived Rome!  When we read the Battle of Gog and Megog in Ezekiel, we find that Ezekiel does not use vague wording.  He uses the ancient names of the peoples and regions who will attack Israel in the last battle.  Today, every last one of the peoples and regions he names is Islamic!  But it goes further.  We think the Bible says the four horsemen ride black, red, white and ‘pale’ horses, but this is not what the actual Greek in Revelation says.  It says the fourth horse is ‘chlōros,’ which means pale green!  Why is this important?  have a look:

A_map_of_the_Arab_World_with_flags

Not bad for a prophecy written more than 750 BC.  They named Israel’s end times enemy and even the colors he would claim.  Oh, and then there is this little tidbit:  Muhammad claimed the number 666 for himself and the Qur’an!

[NOTE: for Christians who have been taught differently, before you dismiss my argument about Islam, I ask that you first read through and consider the understanding of Daniels 70 weeks found on this page.]

Then and only then can we start to see the Crusades for what they actually were, and what they were was a defensive reaction to an offensive attack.  If you still doubt me, this might help:

Seven Myths of the Crusades (Myths of History: A Hackett Series)

41Mwxu7aefL._SX331_BO1,204,203,200_

There’s more, but the point should have already been made: while the Crusades saw atrocities committed, they were not offensive wars.  They were the direct result of Islam attacking the West!

Now, back to the Face Book post that started all this.  That person eventually deleted all of my comments, even the one I am about to share with you.  This is because those who push lies cannot afford to let the light of truth enter into their discussion.  If they do, they are exposed for what they are: LIARS!

My last comment to this Face Book person was to agree: religion is a problem!  But then, even Christ said this!  Oh, yes, Jesus spoke out against religion.  The Bible actually condemns religion.  But the problem here is that people have never understood the difference between FAITH and religion.  Faith is a sincere belief and trust in God, the One True God.  Religion is man’s attempt to make and control a god; to create their own path to salvation.  But herein lies the problem: there can be only one True faith.  The question one must ask themselves is this:

Of all the religions claiming to offer the path to salvation in this world, which is the only one that says Salvation is offered as a free gift to all those who will accept by admitting they are a sinner in need of a Savior, and humbling themselves enough to allow their Savior to be their Lord and Master? It isn’t Islam, or Buddhism, or Hinduism or any other religion man has created.  It is only the God of the Bible Who has made this offer.  Everything else involves some sort of work, especially ‘works’ which include forcing others to comply.  In fact, the use of force is one of the surest signs you are dealing with a religion and not the One True Faith.

Now, how — exactly — does one reconcile Faith verses a religion which demands forced obedience?  Or better yet, the consequences of ignoring that conflict?

The Bleating Of Sheeple Who Refuse To Face Reality

NOTE: I do not wish to be mistaken as directly addressing anyone with this post.  Therefore, I beg the reader to read it as though I were talking to myself aloud.

13413119_1054037381350488_5731023448097679694_n

How is it that so many people in the West these days refuse to accept reality?  One of the things that confuses me most is how so many people can ignore the threat Islam poses to our society.  They see it — they hear the threats Muslims make — but they tell themselves it isn’t true.  Muslims do not really mean what they are saying.  How often have we seen this in history?  Hitler told people what he was going to do, and no one believed him.  Obama told America he was going to “fundamentally change the nation,” and no one believed him.  Well, both of them did exactly what they promised, and the world suffered, still suffers for having ignored them.  And these are only two such examples of people who told us what they were going to do and yet, we ignored them.  What level of insanity does it take to do that now, when Islam is telling us it will kill the entire world unless the entire world converts?

12313981_10153333996915197_2430042318387112767_n

In this day and age, there is no excuse for ignorance.  The answers to any question are at our fingertips.  In many cases, they are right there on our phones.  And yet, when you try to educate people about the threat Islam poses to them and their way of life, they tell you that a few ‘nut jobs’ do not define an entire religion.  Or that they do not want to hear from a ‘hater’ or a ‘xenophobe.’  People who say such things have no idea what they are saying.  They are ignorant, and ignorant on a level that defies imagination.  First, the history of Islam is that of conquest.  The Jihad has never stopped.  If people would just read it, they will find that the Muslims have waged war somewhere in the world on an average of about every fifty years:

41R9s2s2vhL._SX333_BO1,204,203,200_

Why won’t people read the Qur’an, and the Hadith.  Why won’t they read the official biography of Muhammad’s life, and learn that Muhammad said that he was the example for how all Muslims should live.  Why do people refuse to educate themselves?  If they would, then maybe they would realize it is not ‘xenophobia’ to be concerned about a religion that commands death to all who refuse to convert.  First, a religion is not a race, so ‘xenophobia’ is a fallacious argument to begin with.  It is a deliberate attempt to link a legitimate concern to the manufactured hatred of racism and then treat them as they were the same when they are not.  And the notion that this is all based on hate is equally fallacious.  It is not hate to be concerned about an open threat to kill you.  But there are people who spout these lines about ‘xenophobia’ and ‘hate,’ and assume that it makes the problem go away while — at the same time — placing them on a moral plain about those trying to face reality.  Cowardice!  There is no moral superiority in denying the truth and leveling false accusations against the very people trying to wake up the deaf, dumb and blind!

12541081_937323559715474_4657176975660586811_n

I suspect this is the real problem.  It takes actual work to educate yourself.  It’s so much simpler to just go to accept what the government-controlled media tell us and just go to sleep to await our execution.  As long as we have our distractions, our video games, Face Book and all our material luxuries, we do not care that we are paying to import people who have openly said they will convert or kill us.  We just regurgitate the PC mantra the government propaganda mills have told us to say: ‘Bigot,’ ‘Racist,’ ‘Xenophobe,’ Hater!’

Sadly, this leaves me wondering another, far more uncomfortable question: how can such people — those who intentionally chose to remain ignorant and live by emotion rather than reason — how can they be considered human when they are behaving exactly the same as any animal in nature?  I mean, if they are going to behave as sheep in every way — including going dumb to the slaughter, then how are they any different from sheep?  It’s a painful question because the answer is extremely obvious and extremely uncomfortable to accept, but it is a question we should all ask — and an answer we should all face.

When I look at the world and I see people reacting in this way to those who are trying to warn them of danger, I have to fight to keep from weeping.  All I can think is that so many are lost for want of a teacher, but then, that’s not the whole story.  The truth is that so many will be lost for want of having to deal with the way the world really is and not the way we wish it to be…

The Constitution Is NOT What We Should Be Trying To ‘Conserve!’

I’m just going to cut to the chase here: If we want to preserve individual liberty, the Constitution is not what we should be trying to save.  Now, I understand that many people will be quick to dismiss me.  After all, I’m just a blogger.  That’s well and fine, except for one thing: I’m not the one who said that — the founders were!  (But then, what would the founders know about preserving liberty, right?)

You see, the Constitution is just a tool.  It is designed to help us preserve liberty by chaining down the government, but it is still just a tool.  And, like any tool, if you do not understand how to use it properly, it will not work as designed.  Well, America has lost the understanding of how to use the Constitution.  However, rather than re-learn that understanding, we just keep pointing to and citing the Constitution.  As if that will somehow magically teach us what we have forgotten!  We might as well point to the nuclear reactor and cite Einstein and expecting that to teach someone how to operate a nuclear submarine.  The result is going to be the same.

You see, the problem is us: individual Americans!  We have forgotten… No!  That’s not true.  We have rejected the key, the absolutely essential ingredient to making the Constitution work: a sincere belief in and reverence for the Creator!  But again, not my words but the founders’ words.

When we become corrupt, the Constitution will no longer serve to shield us from ourselves.

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

–John Adams, Address to the Military, October 11, 1798

Corrupt people cannot govern others because they cannot govern themselves.

“Sometimes it is said that man can not be trusted with government of himself. Can he, then, be trusted with the government of others? Or have we found angels in the forms of kings to govern him? Let history answer this question”.

–Thomas Jefferson, First Inaugural Address, March 4, 1801

So, how does a people keep from becoming corrupt?  Well, if we are to believe the founders, the only way is through religion and a sincere reverence for the Creator:

In the Founders’ Words: The Connection between God, Liberty and the Founding of America

[Why] should not the Bible regain the place it once held as a school book? Its morals are pure, its examples captivating and noble. The reverence for the Sacred Book that is thus early impressed lasts long; and probably if not impressed in infancy, never takes firm hold of the mind.”

…we have a dangerous trend beginning to take place in our education….We’ve become accustomed of late to putting little books in the hands of children containing fables with moral lessons. We are spending less time in the classroom on the Bible, which should be the principle text in our schools. The Bible states these great moral lessons better than any other man made book.

Fisher Ames, author of the final wording for the First Amendment

Let us enter on this important business under the idea that we are Christians on whom the eyes of the world are now turned… [L]et us earnestly call and beseech Him, for Christ’s sake, to preside in our councils. . . . We can only depend on the all powerful influence of the Spirit of God, Whose Divine aid and assistance it becomes us as a Christian people most devoutly to implore. Therefore I move that some minister of the Gospel be requested to attend this Congress every morning . . . in order to open the meeting with prayer.

— Elias Boudinot, Served as President of Congress, signed the Peace Treaty of Paris to end the War for Independence, framer of the Bill of Rights, and respondent to Thomas Paine’s The Age of Reason with The Age of Revelation.

Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is impossible that a nation of infidels or idolaters [Atheists and pagans] should be a nation of freemen. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience, is incompatible with freedom. No free government, or the blessings of liberty, can be preserved to any people but by a firm adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, frugality, and virtue; and by a frequent recurrence to fundamental principles.

–Patrick Henry

I have cited only three of the long list of such quotes from our founders.  I beg you — even if you do not believe — read the rest, and see what our founders actually had to say about the link between God and liberty.

That is what we should be trying to preserve: a sincere belief and reverence for the Creator in as many Americans as possible.

We All Live In A Gilded Yello Cage, A Gilded Yellow Cage…

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

–Samuel Adams

This is one of my favorite quotes, from one of my favorite founding fathers.  However, I think it needs to be updated just a little.  I trust Mr. Adams won’t mind if I re-phrase his words this way:

If you love your stuff more than your freedom, and your safety and slavery more than personal responsibility, leave us.  We do not want your opinion or your help. Cower on your knees as you lick the hand that feeds you.  May your chains not be so heavy that they crush you, and may we all forget that you were ever one of us.

I had one of my Face Book friends tell me that we are not oppressed by our government.  He even challenged me to name one freedom that I have lost.  Dear reader, I cannot tell you how loudly I wanted to tell this ‘friend’ to go home and cower, and that I would do my best to forget that he was ever an American.  Then I realized that he honestly believes that we are as free today as we have ever been — maybe even more so.  That is when I realized just how lost we are.  When an American cannot see the despotism in this nation, then what does it mean to be American anymore?

Well, I know what it used to mean:

Where liberty dwells, there is my country.

— Benjamin Franklin

It meant that an American loved liberty more than anything else in this world, even their country, even their own life.  But we do not have liberty any more, nor do we have many Americans.  How do I know that?

“The right to use a thing comprehends a right to the means necessary to its use, and without which it would be useless.”

–Thomas Jefferson

Well, I do not have a right to use my car without buying permission from the government.  Try driving without a license and a registration and see what happens.

I do not have a right to use my property without buying permission from the government.  Try building or adding on to your property without a permit and see what happens.

I don’t even have a right to earn a living without buying permission from the government; which means I cannot use my labor without buying permission from the government; which means I cannot use my very life without buying permission from the government.  Just try to start and run a business without a license and see what happens.

If you have to get permission, especially if you have to buy that permission, then you do not have a right in it — period!  This means you literally do not have a right to your own life anymore, but then, this nation is too ignorant to understand this.  All they care about is how many likes their picture of their lunch got.

Now, I just gave three examples of liberties we have lost in the past one hundred years or so.  I could easily name many more, but, if these three do not convince you, a hundred more won’t, either.  That’s because we have been seduced into surrendering our liberty in return for promises that are never kept.  And that’s because we’ve become a nation of lazy cowards who want a government parent to fed them and wipe their bottom:

Most men, after a little freedom, have preferred authority with the consoling assurances and the economy of effort it brings.

— Walter Lippmann, hero of the Progressive movement and modern media.

As long as those lording over us keep giving us scraps of bread and keep us entertained, the majority of us will gladly sell our liberty — and that of our neighbor, too — and all for little more than a promise that others will treat us like children.  Well, even if they spoil you, they are still lording over you, and that means you have voluntarily agreed to be their slave.  And this is what they have done: they have built a cage so ‘comfortable’ that we do not see it.  Hollywood called it ‘The Matrix,’ but it is the same thing: a gilded cage.  So long as they feed you, give you your internet and sports, your Face Book and YouTube, you will accept whatever chains they lay upon you.  Well, that’s well and good, but that’s not America, and such people are not Americans.

Now, others may not care, but I wonder what became of those Americans who would rather die on their feet than live on their knees?  Those who would rather accept their chains may be citizens of this country, but they are in no way an Americans.  Such a people may tell me I have not lost my liberty, but they are in no way sane.  That’s because, deep down, they know they are slaves, but they have been convinced they not only have to accept their slavery to get their promised rewards, but they have to defend it, as well.  Now, how can you say a person who knows they are defending a lie for the promise of another lie a sane person?  I can only think of one way you can say such a person could be considered sane, and that is if they are a coward.  But then, that brings us right back to my original assertion: cowards having no business thinking of themselves as Americans.

So, you are still free — but the government can snoop on everything you do.

You are still free, but they can search you without a warrant.

You are still free, but they can take your property without trial or recourse.

You are still free, but they can jail you without charge.

You are still free, but they can force you to accommodate that which you believe to be immoral.

You are still free, but they can keep you from practicing your faith, and living according to your conscience.

You are still free, but they can force you to pay to support foreigners who seek to destroy this nation.

You are still free, but they can force you to pay for murder.

Yeah, you are free…

BTW: that opening quote, in fuller context:

Distinguishing between Patriots and cowards, Samuel Adams, said: “Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, ‘What should be the reward of such sacrifices?’ … If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom…crouch down and lick the hands, which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”

THINGS GLENN BECK DOESN’T TELL YOU: About His ‘Revelation’ That Christians Are Losing Dominance In American Society (CHRISTIANS NEED TO READ THIS!)

Last week, Glenn recounted a discussion he had with Penn Jillette on his radio show (I believe it was the first hour of his  June 7 show).  In it, Beck explained that Jillette had gone to the ‘Reason Ralley,’ where Atheists and Agnostics discussed how they are the fastest growing religion and will soon be in control of society.  Beck has an admiration for Jillette and it showed in how respectful he was toward Jillette’s position.  However, Beck hit on several important Scriptural subjects that he either isn’t aware of, or chose to ignore.  Either way, I can’t let them pass — especially in the face of how often Beck speaks to his audience about Spiritual matters.

First, Beck and Jillette are both correct: Atheism is a religion.  They are also correct that the Secular Humanists are growing in influence and, soon, they will control the direction of society.  Finally, Beck is correct in saying that this is because there is no apparent difference between those professing to be Christians and those who are either Atheist or Agnostic.  But here is something Beck either missed or ignored.

Esau rejected his birthright.  In fact, he sold it to his brother, Jacob, for a bowl of stew.  Now, many Christians know the story, but there are some important details that get lost in the translation from the original Hebrew.  These details are doubly obscured because of the difference between the Hebrew and Western cultures.  It is all explained in an excellent book, “Esau Rising.”  Therefore, I am going to share the highlights and leave the reader to reference the book for a more in-depth explanation and support of what I am about to explain.

First, Esau’s birthright was not only to his father’s ‘stuff,’ but to God’s blessings and promises to Abraham.  So, because he lacked self-control and discipline, and he sought after his material desires more than the things of God, Esau gave all of that away for a bowl of red soup.  What’s more, the description of Esau at birth, and the soup in this story are all connected to the Hebrew word(s) for red, man and earth.  To the ancient Hebrew, this would have carried an implication of the material world.  Spiritually, this all combines to define Esau as the spiritual father of all those who chose the material world over the Spiritual: the things of men over the things of God.

Next, Isaac blessed Esau, and that blessing was a prophecy — a prophecy to which the Church doesn’t pay any attention.  This is a mistake!  Isaac’s blessing on Esau reads:

“Behold, [a]away from the [b]fertility of the earth shall be your dwelling,
And [c]away from the dew of heaven from above.
40 “By your sword you shall live,
And your brother you shall serve;
But it shall come about when you become restless,
That you will [d]break his yoke from your neck.”

In modern terms, Isaac prophesied that those people who serve themselves (i.e. humanists) would serve those people who serve God (i.e. Jews/Christians) — until the people who serve themselves grow ‘restless.’  At that time, they would ‘throw off the yoke’ (i.e. control) of God’s people and rule over them.  Now, Biblical prophecies tend to repeat.  There is a pattern to them.  So this pattern of humanism dominating over God’s people has happened before, and — as Beck noted — it is happening again today.  What’s more, it is happening for a reason.  Beck sees the symptom, but he either does not understand or ignored the cause.

There is a legal doctrine in this prophecy.  When Jacob assumed the birthright of the first born, he became the Spiritual father of all those who would follow the God of the Bible.  The birth right of the first born not only comes with material blessings, but also with duties.  The first born assumes the duties of the family line.  In this case, this includes the duty to honor and obey God and His commandments.  But the Church has forgotten this.  Rather than remaining a light in the midst of the darkness but set apart (i.e. in the non-believing world, but separate from its ways), it has mixed itself with the darkness (i.e. become like it, like the world).  In the Hebrew culture, it would be understood that, if the first born ignored his duties, then the other children would have a legal claim to the inheritance.  So, in simpler words, because the Church has become like the rest of the world, the non-believers now has a claim over the believers, and are shaking off the believers’ control over society.

Now, there is more to this — and the book does not go into this part of this issue.  Esau took his wives from peoples with whom God said not to mingle.  In fact, he purposely did so, even traveling to his uncle’s land to take his second wife.  His uncle was Ishmael.  Ishmael is the father of the Ishmaelites.  Today, we call them Arabs, and the Arabs gave us Islam.

Esau is connected to the kingdom of Edom and the Edomite people.  Spiritually, these people represent those who reject any and all notion of God.  Ishmael is connected to the kingdom of Moab and the Ishmaelites.   Spiritually, they represent all those who worship false gods. Esau intentionally sought a wife from the Ishmaelites.  Spiritually, this joined the kingdom of Edom with the kingdom of Moab.  Both regions are — today — in the area of Saudi Arabia and Jordan.  And today, with whom is the secular Left joining forces?  With Islam!

Now, those who know there Bible prophecy might recall this part of prophecy:

Ezekiel 35

Prophecy against Mount Seir (Edom)

35 Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me saying, “Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it and say to it, ‘Thus says the Lord [a]God,

“Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir,
And I will stretch out My hand against you
And make you a desolation and a waste.
“I will lay waste your cities
And you will become a desolation.
Then you will know that I am the Lord.

Because you have had everlasting enmity and have [b]delivered the sons of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of the [c]punishment of the end, therefore as I live,” declares the Lord God, “I will [d]give you over to bloodshed, and bloodshed will pursue you; since you have not hated bloodshed, therefore bloodshed will pursue you. I will make Mount Seir a waste and a desolation and I will cut off from it the one who passes through and returns. I will fill its mountains with its slain; on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines those slain by the sword will [e]fall. I will make you an everlasting desolation and your cities will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

10 “Because you have said, ‘These two nations and these two lands will be mine, and we will possess [f]them,’ although the Lord was there, 11 therefore as I live,” declares the Lord God, “I will deal with you according to your anger and according to your envy which you showed because of your hatred against them; so I will make Myself known among them when I judge you. 12 Then you will know [g]that I, the Lord, have heard all your revilings which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel saying, ‘They are laid desolate; they are given to us for food.’ 13 And you have [h]spoken arrogantly against Me and have multiplied your words against Me; I have heard it.” 14 Thus says the Lord God, “As all the earth rejoices, I will make you a desolation. 15 As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so I will do to you. You will be a desolation, O Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”’

Mount Seir is the mountain of Edom, just as Mount Moria is the Mountain of Zion.  They are interchangeable within themselves (Seir/Edom, Moria/Zion).  So God has sworn to utterly destroy Edom.  Dear read, as of today, that has not happened!  What’s more, if you study Bible prophecy, you will find that there is a prophecy in which God — in the form of Christ — comes from Edom and Moab, the region we know think of as Saudi Arabia, after personally killing everyone there.  Again, as of today, this has not happened.  However, the signs are all there, and those who believe — the remnant who still struggle to keep God’s commandments — they know the season and that time is short.  So, if you do not believe, I beg you, please, seek Him.  Ask Him to reveal Himself to you — while there’s still time.  If you do so, and you believe in your heart, He will reveal Himself to you.  I just pray you will find Him in time….

*****

TO THE NON-BELIEVER: You may think that Bible prophecy is myth, or written so that it can mean anything.  This is not true.  It is actually very clear, and easily understood — once the Lord shows it to you, that is.  The problem is, the Lord intentionally preserved it in a way that makes no sense to those who mock Him.  But to those who seek Him and study His word, the pieces fall neatly together.  Still, the Lord is loving and gracious, and He has left enough of the peaces in the open, for all to see.  The pieces I just explained are but a small part of the story, and they were written thousands of years ago.  yet, somehow, they are just as relevant today as when they were first revealed.  How is that?  How is it that every nation Ezekiel says will be destroyed in the Battle of Gog and Megog is, today, Islamic?  How is it that the four horsemen are red, green black and white — the colors of Islam.  How is it that the order of the power structure in the region centered around Babylon was so accurately predicted 750 years before Christ?  Or that we were told the last empire would be killed off, then brought back to life by the very empire that killed it (Islam, resurrected by the West’s ignorance)?  And there is more — much more.  Please, I beg you: if you truly believe God’s Word is a fairy tale,  ask yourself how it is that all of this was so accurately foretold in the Scriptures?

[NOTE: I no longer think of my voice as anything special.  There was a time when I believed I had something important to say, but not so much these days.  I write now because I feel driven to do so.  Something inside me will not let me rest until I post the pages you just read.  I’d just as soon not bother anymore.  It all seems like no one is listening and I do more harm than good.  So I have come to trust that whatever it is driving me has all this under control.  Personally, I believe it is God, but others may not.  All I ask is that, if anything I write helps you, or you think it might help others in any way, please, share this page.  Re-blog it, share it on FB or send the link to your friends.  So long as you feel it will do more good than harm, then please, use this page however you wish.  Thank you.]

AGENDAS: First, They Make You Believe In Absurdities…

“Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities.”

— Voltaire

What did Voltaire mean by this?  He meant to warn us against demagogues and populists.  Charismatic liars such as these are capable of convincing you to believe things that you know to be wrong.  Once they can convince you to believe an absurdity, it is a small step to convince you to act on it. For example: If I can convince you that gravity has been reversed, then it will be an easy thing to convince you that you will fly instead of fall if you just jump off the top of the tallest building around.  This is why you should reject people who try to convince you that the absurd is actually true and that the truth is absurd.

Now, consider this:

If you hear someone — anyone, even the President — telling you that it does no good to name our enemies for what they are, that is an absurdity.

If you hear someone telling you that it does no good to fight your enemy head-on, that is an absurdity.

If you hear someone telling you that the better course of action is to attack an inanimate thing that does not and cannot threaten you or your family, that is an absurdity.

So, when Obama tells you that it doesn’t do any good to name Islam as our enemy, he is trying to convince you to believe an absurdity.  The reason is in his next claim: that the better course of action is to surrender your right to self-defense.  If you can be convinced that people who have been screaming they want to kill you are not a threat, then he can convince you to surrender your means of defending yourself from them (and him).  That is what Obama is doing.  That is what the political Left in this country has been doing for decades.  They are trying to convince you to believe absurdities so that you will surrender the entire nation’s ability to defend itself from tyrants and murderers.

So, why would our leaders want to disarm us?  Well, there are two answers to that question, because there are two different agendas at work here.

First, when Donald Trump says Obama is actively helping Islam attack America, he is not wrong!  Yes, you read correctly.  Obama is openly committing treason by helping Islam wage war against America.  What’s more, Obama has admitted it on national television, and the facts have also been entered into the Congressional record.  Why doesn’t America see it?  Because we have been convinced to believe in absurdities, and now we are acting on them by ignoring their crimes (Does ‘is’ does not mean ‘is,’ and “oral sex is not sex” ring any bells?  So why would we believe that the Constitution means what it says anymore, either?).

So this is one agenda: Obama is trying to disarm America to make it easier on his Muslim allies.  But there is another agenda.  The Secular Humanists on the Left (Progressives, Socialists, Communists, etc) want to rule over this nation, but they cannot do that so long as we remain armed.  They must take our weapons first.  So they have been trying to convince us that guns kill — not people.  That is an absurdity, but a great many Americans now believe it.  If just a few more can be convinced, then it will be an easy thing for them to convince those same people to surrender the whole nation’s right to self-defense.

Now, I know that many will disagree with me — especially when I say Obama is allied with Islam.  OK, fine.  Answer a few questions for me.

Since Obama was elected, how many Muslims have attacked the citizens of this nation?  And how many times has the government identified those attacks as an act of war against America?

Now, how many times has there been a shooting where the media and government tried to connect the shooter to the ‘Right wing?’  And how many of those times did it later turn out to be a Democrat, a Muslim or even — as in this most recent shooting, a Muslim Democrat?

Finally, in how many of those cases did witnesses report a gun or guns running around shooting people without aid of a human being?  Or a bomb going off without the aid of a human being?

If you are still sane, you know full well that the answers are: The government has repeatedly refused to call attacks on this nation acts of war.  It always tries to pin shootings on the Right.  And there has never been a single case of a weapon running around killing people without some form of human direction.  And yet, how many people refuse to believe this is true?  Those people have accepted the lies: they believe in absurdities.  Now — and be honest — do you trust those people to protect and preserve your rights?  I know I don’t.

So how do we fight this?  Simple: educate yourself.  Learn what is really happening.  Who is doing it.  Why.  And then find the courage to face these realities head on and, most importantly, do not let anyone tell you that you are wrong when you know you’re not.  When you hear someone trying to convince you or others to believe in absurdities, call them out and shine the light of truth on their lies.  Stand, and others will start to rally around you.  But refuse to stand…  Well, if you do that, then you should start praying you never fall into one of the categories of people that the insane who take over deem “less human.”

Thank you.]

TRUTH: We’re Not At War With Terror; We Are At War With ISLAM!

The West is insane.  Why do I say this?  Because it absolutely refuses to face the realities of this world.  We think a man can be a woman because he ‘feels’ like a woman.  We believe can borrow and spend without limit because nothing bad has ever come from it.  We are convinced that matters of right and wrong are individual values and that the law is subject to retro-active revision based on the needs of the moment. If left unchecked, this insanity will eventually end us, but the good news is we don’t have to worry about any of it.  That’s because Islam is going to end us long before our insanity will.  You see, our insanity has convinced us that we are not at war with Islam, but with an imaginary creation we call ‘Radical’ Islam.  And even then, we are not at war with ‘Radical’ Islam, but ‘Terrorism.’  Well, that’s all lies.  The Truth is this: whether we want to accept it or not, Islam is and has always been at war with the world.  If you disagree, I beg you, keep reading (please, because your life may depend on you knowing the Truth).

Islam is the creation of one man: Muhammad.  Muhammad defines what it means to be a Muslim.  He set the Muslim’s commandments and ordinances, and he provided the example for how all Muslims should live their lives.  How do we know this?  Because the Qur’an says so:

FOR TRUTH SEEKERS ONLY: What Muhammad Actually Said About ‘Muhammad’

Now, let me be as clear as I can on this issue.  Muhammad — not me, Muhammad said that a Muslim who refuses to wage war against non-Muslims is an apostate.  The true believer is to kill that Muslim even before non-Muslims.  This does not mean the apostate is not “Muslim enough,” as some ignorant voices would tell you.  It means that Muslim has broken Muhammad’s commands, thus, moving away from Islam — and the penalty for leaving Islam is death.  This is ALL in the Muslim holy books:

FOR TRUTH SEEKERS ONLY: What MUHAMMAD Actually Said about Muslims Who Disobey Him (or Try to Change/Leave Islam)

Muhammad commanded that all true Muslims must wage war with the entire world until there is only Islam remaining.  Once again, this is not my opinion, but the words and deeds of Muhammad — the man who created Islam:

FOR TRUTH SEEKERS ONLY: What MUHAMMAD Actually Said about Islam and Terrorism

FOR TRUTH SEEKERS ONLY: What MUHAMMAD Actually Said about Islam and Fighting

FOR TRUTH SEEKERS ONLY: What Muhammad Actually Said About Jihad

Again, let me be perfectly clear.  When it comes to fighting all non-Muslims, Muhammad said there is no such thing as a ‘moderate’ Muslim:

ISLAM ACCORDING TO MUHAMMAD: When it Comes to Jihad, their are no “Moderate” Muslims

So, what about the ‘Muslims’ who appear to be peaceful to our Western eyes?  Well, in many cases, Muhammad would tell you they are not Muslims at all, but Hypocrites: people who pretend to be Muslim to avoid the consequences of not converting to Islam.  But it is also possible they are lying to you:

FOR TRUTH SEEKERS ONLY: What Muhammad Actually Said About Lying

FOR TRUTH SEEKERS ONLY: What Muhammad Actually Said About Befriending Infidels

Now, in a rational world, I have just presented enough evidence to condemn Islam — all of Islam!  What’s more, I used its own commandments and the example of its creator to do so.  But this is not a rational world.  No, this world is insane.  We are under a powerful delusion which has convinced us we can alter or re-create an entirely new reality simply by wishing it so.  That, my friend, is the definition of a person who is clinically insane.  Such a person is in need of serious help, but — inexplicably — we aren’t seeking to help them; we’re championing them!  We’re seeking to join, to become one of them!  We are even pushing the most insane among them into leadership positions over us.  That, my dear reader, is insanity — pure and simple.

Here is reality.  Islam is and has always been at war with the world.  Read this book and you will see that Classic Civilization was not ended by the Barbarians as so many of us have been taught.  It was ended by Islam:

Mohammed and Charlemagne

Don’t accept Pirenne’s argument?  Then read the follow up, written with the benefit of recent archeological support for Pirenne:

Mohammed and Charlemagne Revisited: The History of a Controversy

Still not convinced?  Think the missing pieces count against the argument?  Fine, read this book — it fills in those ‘missing pieces:’

Jihad in the West: Muslim Conquests from the 7th to the 21st Centuries

And don’t hold to the idea that Islam rescued Europe from the ‘Dark Ages,’ either.  Islam didn’t rescue the West from Christianity or the Dark Ages: Islam created the Dark Ages.  It was Christianity that restored Western Civilization:

Lost to the West: The Forgotten Byzantine Empire That Rescued Western Civilization

How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization

And the Crusades?  Yeah, they were in direct response to Islamic invasion.  In other words, they were not offensive wars of invasion into Islamic lands, but a defensive response to invasion by Islam into Christian lands.  This is yet another area in history we do not understand because we have been blinded by our insanity.

Even modern science owes its existence to Christianity.  But you have been told stories which teach a very different view of history.  Why?  Insanity!  In some cases, it was because the information we have now was not available to scholars in the past.  In these cases, well meaning people often succumbed to the false teachings of those who had come before them.  But, in most cases, the prevailing beliefs about Islam stem from people who had a hatred for the Judeo/Christian faith and chief among such people are Muslims.

So, the loss of Classic Civilization?  The rampage of the Vikings?  Slavery in America?  That’s right: thank Muhammad and his Jihadis.  It can all be traced directly to Islam.  And, unless we wake up and start to face the reality that we are — once again — in a real life shooting war with Islam, we will — once again — be destroyed by Islam.

OH!  One last thing.  All of this — Islam, its constant war with the West — ALL of it was foretold some 750 years before Christ.  But then, that’s just more fantasy, right?  Well, start giving this site a read and see if you think it’s all just a bunch of fantasy (start with this link, then read this one, and then this one).  You might, but then again, if you are not insane (or the Lord chooses to remove the scales from your eyes), you just might see that this entire post is about one grand story told on the tapestry of human history.

I see what is happening for what it is.  I pray, I beg and plead with the Lord to open your eyes and show it to you as well — while there is still time to turn and repent.

Thank you.]

LESSONS IN LOGIC: It Is Not The Gun — PERIOD!

Every time a person uses a gun to do violence, we are inevitably barraged with people seeking to use it to trample our right to self-defense.  This is irrational and it is w-a-y past time for us to get past this.  The gun is not the problem — period!  The problem is always the person: either the one using the gun to harm others, or the one using that shooting to do so.  Yes, that’s correct: if you use a shooting to push for gun control, you are as morally culpable as the shooter, maybe more so (because you are harming many times more people).

A gun is an inanimate object.  I can load one and leave it in the street with the safety off and, so long as no one touches it, it will not fire — ever!  And if it never fires, it will never hurt anyone.  So, if you are afraid of guns, that is a phobia, and a phobia is irrational.  There is nothing inherently wrong with having a phobia — unless you cannot control it.  If you have a fear of elevators, you do not suddenly develop a right to push society into eliminating elevators.  The same applies to weapons.  A fear of firearms does not give you a moral imperative to attack them.  In fact, it is just the opposite: attacking the right of other people to own firearms is a moral wrong!  This is because you are attacking their right to defend themselves, which is an indirect attack on their very life.

What’s more, the empirical evidence is undeniable: gun control does not work — period!  No, it does not, and it is time for reasonable people to stop arguing against factual reality.  If gun control worked, Chicago would be a utopia, but it isn’t.  If gun control worked, we would never have a shooting in a ‘gun free’ zone.  So, to all those out there who still insist that gun control is the answer to human nature: GROW THE HECK UP!

The simple truth of the matter is it takes a person to harm another person.  If a person is intent on doing harm, they will find a way to do so.  I like to use the example of a science fiction book I once read.  A mercenary is marooned on an artificial planet.  At the center of this planet is an artificial intelligence that will not allow weapons.  Soon after he arrives, the mercenary gets into a  fight and picks up a chair to use as a weapon.  The AI takes away the chair.  Next, the mercenary uses a pipe or something like that, and the AI takes the pipe.  After a few such instances, the AI realizes the weapon is the mercenary, himself — and it takes him away.

And now you understand the reason behind the death penalty: to remove the evil from among society, and warn those who would consider doing evil of the consequences of doing so…

THE ORLANDO SHOOTING: If You Use It To Push Gun Control, You Should Not Be Allowed To Vote!

Yes, you read that correctly.  What’s more, it is 100% correct:

If you chose to use the Islamic attack in Orlando as an excuse to push more gun control, you should not be allowed to vote!

This is how it works:

We are all born with certain inalienable rights.  Among them is the right to life.  Inherent in a right is the right to defend your rights.  This includes the right to self-defense because, if you do not have a right to defend it, then you do not really have a right to your own life.

Any free and self-governing society is bound to protect and preserve these inalienable right.  This includes the rights of people with who you disagree.  If you have a right to live, so do they.  If you have a right to speak, so do they.  In fact, anything you claim a right o must be fully reciprocal, otherwise, it is not and cannot be a right!  And if it is fully reciprocal, then you have a duty to protect it for others — especially when you do not like them!  Therefore, if you wish to have your rights protected and preserved, then you have a duty to protect and preserve the rights of every other citizen in your society.

However, if you have a fear of inanimate objects — and a gun is an inanimate object — then you are irrational.  Furthermore, if you cannot control that fear, then you are also a coward.  An irrational coward cannot be trusted to do what is right in the face of a fear they cannot control.  Therefore, they should not — musty not be allowed to vote! What’s more, a free society has the right — nay, duty to deny such people the right to vote as they are a clear and present danger to every citizen of that society.

Anyone who disagrees with this identifies themselves as someone who should not be voting in a free and self-governing society.  They are either too cowardly or to… Well, honestly, too stupid to be trusted with such a crucial duty.

Seriously, folks: how can you look at Chicago and come away arguing that gun control works?  Only a person out of touch with reality can make such a claim and believe it.  The rest are lying for their own political gain, and those people not only should not be allowed to vote…they should be jailed!

Yes, Obama, I mean you!  You and everyone else calling for gun control when you know it does not work should be jailed for subversion!

THINGS GLENN BECK DOESN’T TELL YOU: Beck’s Defiition of ‘Conservatism’

NOTE: I started this series to fill in some of the blanks that — whether due to ignorance or intention — Glenn Beck leaves out of his history lessons and explanations on his radio and Internet TV shows.  This series is not specifically intended to berate Beck, but rather, to fill in gaps that could possibly change the way his listeners see and understand the topics he addresses.

DATE: June 8

TOPIC: ‘What is Conservatism?’

Today, Glenn Beck addressed the definition of ‘Conservatism.’  The problem is, he got it wrong!  However, if you do not know what Conservatism actually is, or where it came from, you wouldn’t know that Beck was wrong — or why.  This is why I stress the need to know and understand the meaning of the words we use.  If you listened to Beck today, and you knew what Conservatism is and where it came from, you would have understood why Beck is wrong (and if you understand Beck’s religion, you would understand how he got it wrong).  So, let’s start with a short history lesson about ‘Conservatism:’

I wrote about this topic on January 6 — 2013!  Back then, I was blogging on The Rio Norte Line.  Here is the post:

AMERICAN CONSERVATISM DEFINED (this one’s an important history lesson)

First, what we call conservatism – American Conservatism – is derived from the works of an Irish statesman, author, orator, political theorist and philosopher by the name of Sir Edmund Burke.  He lived from 1729 until 1797 and was actually a supporter of the American Revolution while, as the same time, he opposed the French Revolution (I offer you this link as support of my claim, though not necessarily as support for my overall argument: from the Heritage Foundation, The Roots of Modern Conservative Thought from Burke to Kirk).  Hopefully, this will suffice to establish that I am correct in asserting that American Conservatism traces its roots back to Sir Edmund Burke.

Now, the problem with Beck’s definition of ‘Conservatism’ is that he assigns the values of our founding fathers to it — and only their values.  But that is not what Burke was trying to preserve!  While he was sympathetic to certain aspects of the Colonialist’s complaints against the Crown, Burke was actually interested in trying to preserve the Crown and the British political system.  He said so:

Burke viewed colonialism as bad, radicalism as dangerous, and democracy as a threat to social stability. He considered governmental conventions as spiritually based and not to be tinkered with.
Some of his other thoughts:

  • While he conceded human equality in the eyes of God, he felt no such compunction for equality here on earth.

  • Respect for a higher power was essential to his philosophy, no matter what the religion. Church and State were inseparable, but in spiritual, not mechanical sense. Both were derived from God.

  • Individual conscience was meant to be directed by “prescription, presumption and prejudice.” (His use of the word “prejudice” had nothing to do with bigotry, but with having a sense of innate “pre-judgment.”)

  • It was not enough to be free. Life had to have meaning as well, and meaning can be found in tradition, folklore and myth.

  • History was the unfolding of a design wrought by Heaven, of which today’s consumerism would be antithetical.

  • Government finds its authority not on a social contract, but on virtuous principles.

  • There is a collective intellect, seeped in ancient wisdom, that people inherit and culture safeguards and transmits. We learn about principle through the understanding of nature and history.

If we wanted to call Burke’s philosophy by a more descriptive name, we could just as easily call him a traditionalist — because he wanted to hold to the way things had always been done.  Now, consider this: The progressive agenda has now been a part of American politics nearly as long as Classic Liberalism (the political thinking of our founding fathers).  This means that ‘Conservative’ can just as easily apply to Progressives trying to hold on to their gains as it does to those trying to hold to the founding principles and ideals of this nation.  So Beck cannot turn around and claim that ‘Conservative’ means ‘Classic Liberal,’ because it does not!  That is not opinion, it is just wrong — by definition, it is wrong!  Furthermore, this is what Beck attacks Progressives for doing: changing the meaning of words to suit their agenda through confusion and deception.

Now, here is something we need to consider before we accept Burke or anything that has been derived from Burke’s political thinking.  From my personal copy of Edmund Burke’s political works:

“…But having stated to you of what description the chartered rights are which this bill touches, I feel no difficulty at all in acknowledging the existence of those chartered rights in their fullest extent.  They belong to the Company in the surest manner, and they are secured to that body by every sort of public sanction.  They are stamped by the faith of the king; they are stamped by the faith of the Parliament: they have been bought for money, for money honestly and fairly paid; they have been bought for valuable consideration, over and over again.” [Emphasis mine]

What Burke is saying here is that a Company (a corporation) can legally buy — from the government — the rights to own and control 1/3 of the known world; to include operating their own private army for the purpose of controlling those people, their property and their economic activity.  He says so in the very next paragraph of his speech:

“I therefore freely admit to the East India Company their claim to exclude their fellow-subjects from the commerce of half the globe, I admit their claim to administer an annual territorial revenue of seven million sterling, to command an army of sixty thousand men, and to dispose (under the control of a sovereign, imperial discretion, and with the due observance of the natural and local law) of the lives and fortunes of thirty millions of their fellow-creatures.  All this they possess by charter, and by Acts of Parliament, (in my opinion,) without a shadow of controversy.”

Did you catch that?  Let me single it out for you in case you missed it:

“I therefore freely admit to the East India Company their claim to exclude their fellow-subjects from the commerce of half the globe, I admit their claim to administer an annual territorial revenue of seven million sterling, to command an army of sixty thousand men, and to dispose (under the control of a sovereign, imperial discretion, and with the due observance of the natural and local law) of the lives and fortunes of thirty millions of their fellow-creatures.  All this they possess by charter, and by Acts of Parliament, (in my opinion,) without a shadow of controversy.”

This is ‘Conservatism’ — as it’s original author defined and argued it!  The definition Beck gave today is that of ‘Classic Liberalism,’ not ‘Conservatism.’  This is also why we need to understand the meaning and, wherever possible, the origins of the words we use — especially when they pertain to social and political movements.  Because, if we do not know, our ignorance can and will be turned into a weapon by which we will eventually enslave ourselves to those who do.

TRUMP: The Warning Signs Continue To Fall On Deaf Ears And Blind Eyes

Not too long ago, I wrote a piece explaining how and why the comparisons between Donald Trump and the 1930’s version of Adolf Hitler are accurate and warranted (HISTORIC COMPARISONS: Is The Comparison Of Trump To Hitler ‘Legitimate?’).  A lot of people disagreed with me; some of them disagreed rather strongly.  But I do not regret writing that piece — because it is absolutely true.  And if those of us who have ears to hear and eyes to see are paying attention, we are seeing the warning signs in everything Trump says and does.  This latest pieces is just one more in a growing string of warning signs.

SiriusXM Announces Suspension of Glenn Beck over Brad Thor Interview Comments

THOR: He is a danger to America and I got to ask you a question and this is serious and this could ring down incredible heat on me because I’m about to suggest something very bad. It is a hypothetical I am going to ask as a thriller writer.

With the feckless, spineless Congress we have, who will stand in the way of Donald Trump overstepping his constitutional authority as President? If Congress won’t remove him from office, what patriot will step up and do that if, if, he oversteps his mandate as president, his constitutional-granted authority, I should say, as president.

If he oversteps that, how do we get him out of office? And I don’t think there is a legal means available. I think it will be a terrible, terrible position the American people will be in to get Trump out of office because you won’t be able to do it through Congress.

BECK: I would agree with you on that and I don’t think you actually have the voices we’ve been talking about and we’ve been talking about this off-air for a while. I think the voices like ours go away. I don’t think we are allowed – especially if things, and I believe the economy is going to go to crap, even if Jesus was in office. It’s going to naturally reset. It has to.

OK, regular readers will already know this, but for those new to my blog, I am not exactly a fan of Glenn Beck.  However, I am a fan of the Truth, and this Breitbart story is a propaganda hit-piece straight out of Goebbels play book.

Context is everything.  If you listen to Beck, then you know he is hyper-focused on the Constitution and rule of law.  He is also concerned with trying to resolve issues peacefully.  So it would be a stretch to assume Beck would sudenly throw all of this away and advocate assassination — especially when he has been warning against them for the better part of ten years now.  Breitbart knows this (as does SiriusXM), but that didn’t matter to them.  Breitbart is and has been a mouth-piece for the Trump campaign — to the point where they have lost all credibility in my eyes.  I have no doubt that Sirius caved to political pressure, as well (I’ll explain my reason for that in a moment).

Context is everything.  I heard the original interview.  It was not held in the context of an assassination, but of how one can legally remove a dictator when the Congress refuses to do its job!  Beck and Thor explained this in great length the next day.  Breitbart (and I suspect SiriusXM) knew this, as well.  But the objective here is not to tell the truth, but to silence political opposition.  That is what Breitbart (and SirirusXM) are trying to do: follow Trump’s orders to silence political opponents — just like Trump said he will do if he wins:

Trump threatens to weaken First Amendment protections for reporters

Like Hitler, Trump is an egomaniac.  When he does not get his way, he seeks to destroy those he views as standing in his way.  And, like with those surrounding Hitler, many people are starting to align with him for fear of becoming one of the people he might destroy.  So, Breitbart and SirirusXM, not to mention Hannity and Limbaugh, have started to bow before trump for fear of being destroyed by him should he win.  But Beck has refused to kneel before Trump, and has openly said he expects to be silenced if Trump wins.  From what we have been seeing in this and other similar stories, it would appear that Trump isn’t going to wait to win before trying to silence Beck.

Now, others may refuse to see it, but they will have no excuse.  The warning signs have been loud and clear, and they continue to sound.  But Trump’s supporters are so consumed with hate and the desire for revenge that they will not see or hear.  That is exactly how Hitler came to power: because the German people refused to see or hear the warnings.  They wanted what they wanted and they convinced themselves that Hitler would give it to them.  So, even if millions had to die, they would go along — just so long as they were not the one who was ‘disappeared.’  Well, the problem with that is, REAL Americans are the ones Trump will ‘disappear.’  By REAL Americans, I mean those who believe in and stand up for what is right — not those who will champion a strong man for the purpose of self-interest of revenge.

But then, Satan often cloaks himself as the opposite of what he actually is.  Only those who hear and follow the Truth can tell the difference.

CONNECTING THE DOTS: The Legacy Of Cain

I do not know how or why, but the Lord has made me such that I see connections where most people do not.  It is difficult to explain what I see, but I feel compelled to try — for the benefit of whomever it may help.  So, when the Lord shows me how I can share some of what He has shown me with others, I will do my best to share what i see.  This is such a time, and I hope I can paint the picture so that others can see and understand.  It will take a bit of explaining, so I hope you will stay with me.  For those who have eyes to see and ears to hear:

After Cain slew Abel, God condemned him to wander the face of the earth.  But Cain’s heart was rebellious, and he sought to thwart God by taking his destiny into his own hands.  Thus, Cain built the first city (Gen 4:17).  In that passage, the Hebrew word translated as ‘city’ can refer to any permanent settlement, however small.  Thus, by building this ‘city,’ Cain was rebelling against God by trying to avoid his fate to wonder the face of the earth forever.  Therefore, Cain became the father of all those who dwell in cities.

Next, we have Nimrod.  God commanded man to spread out across the whole face of the earth and to multiply so that they could do so.  But Nimrod rebelled.  He followed Cain.  Rather than obey God, Nimrod built Babylon (Gen 10:10).  What’s more, Nimrod further rebelled by becoming the first king and by starting polytheism (paganism).  He made himself into the first man-god and compelled all those who followed him to worship him.

the-first-sin-of-babylon

At some point, Nimrod started to build his tower to the sky and boasted that he would make a name for himself.  To the Hebrews, a name is about the purpose or function of a thing, not a description of it.  Therefore, Nimrod was boasting that he and his followers would throw off God’s rule and seize hold of their own destiny.  This is where God said that, if left alone, man could do anything and He confuses their language (Gen 11:1-9).  God did not mean that man could become a god, himself, as many have believed, but that man could and would make it such that all knowledge of God was erased (as he had nearly done before the flood).  So He dispersed them and confused their language to make it harder for them to cooperate.

[ Consider this: Nimrod made his tower from bricks.  Bricks are man-made and uniform.  As such, this is an image of collectivism.  The Hebrew word translated ‘mortar’ in the passages about the tower is connected to the notion of materialism.  Collectivism and materialism are the essential building blocks of Marxism and all other forms of secular humanism.  As such, they represent man’s attempt to direct his own destiny, his own moral and natural laws.]

Nimrod, the world’s first king and man-god, built Babylon, and thus, Babylon became a symbol of man’s rebellion against God:

babylon-represents-mans-efforts-to-replace-god-with-himself

I have one last person to discuss before I can show you what I see.  Judas Iscariot: or, more specifically, the meaning of his name.  Iscariot can be translated as “Man of Cities.”  What’s more, the meaning of ‘man’ in this translation can have a decidedly feminine connotation (think feminism).

[NOTE: I strongly urge you to read this article:  Etymology of the name Iscariot, especially the final summary/conclusion, as it ties the name ‘Iscariot’ to the bricks and mortar of the Tower of Babel.]

Now, if you have followed me — especially if you have done some additional reading into the men I have mentioned (Cain, Nimrod and Iscariot), then you should have noticed they are all tied to those who live in cities for the purpose of material gain.  You should have also noticed that they all rebelled against God.  Now, have a look at this and consider the attitude that the people represented by blue have toward God and material wealth, and ask yourself if you see what I see?

Now, look at a map of where God’s people still reside in America:

I don’t know what you see, but I see the legacy of Cain carried down through some 4 millennia.  No, it is not a direct mirror of beliefs, but that is because there is a mixing of those beliefs in the regions depicted.  Still, I see a correlation.  So, to me, this affirms the Truth of Scripture.  You may disagree, but I hope not — for your sake.

[Hold on to the feminine connection to Judas Iscariot’s name.  I will write another post very soon in which it will raise its head yet again.  Just remember, we are dealing with spiritual influences here.  Keep that in mind — so that we do not make people the focus, but rather, the spiritual forces behind their actions.]

MY TESTIMONY: The REAL Causes Of Poverty

The time has come for me to start sharing my personal testimony with those who read this blog.  I want to start with how the Lord showed me that the message in this meme is a lie!

13254077_1139679789458407_8511417120864878262_n

This is pure, unadulterated propaganda, intended to create envy and jealousy which can then be used to turn those who listen into slaves of those who push this lie.  And it is a lie.  I know.  I learned it first hand.

For the majority of my life, I consumed more than I made.  I was usually living hand-to-mouth and with debt.  But because I lived this way, and because I did not want to do the things which are required to not live this way, I allowed myself to believe the lie that I was poor because of what someone else was doing to me.  Then the Lord grabbed hold of me, I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior and I submitted to His will, His Wisdom and His Ways.  Once I did that, things changed.  Now I can look back and see the Truth.

First, I realized that ‘rich’ and ‘poor’ are not only relative terms, they are political tools.  If you have $25,000, in America, you are not ‘rich.’  You might even be considered ‘poor.’  But in the majority of the rest of the world, you are most definitely ‘rich!’  And if you are ‘rich,’ then the spirit behind the thinking in the meme above says it is not only permissive to take your $25,000 and give it to those with less, it is moral and righteous, and that those who think this way are noble.  LIE!

What if I have $5 — just $5 — but the man next to me has nothing?  The world may see me as poor, but I can choose to see myself as not only rich, but blessed.  I have been given more than another.  But does that mean that it is now just and righteous to take my $5 and give it to him?  NO!  Whether the man next to me has or does not have, what belongs to me is mine.  It cannot be taken away and given to another without just cause.  If it is, it is called theft.  And the only just reason to forcibly take what is mine and give it to another is because I have caused tangible harm to that other person.  That means I have to have caused a harm, due to a positive action, that you can actually see and describe, and for which you can show actual damage.  The man next to me cannot do this, as I have done nothing to him.  The same applies to the rich and the poor: the poor cannot claim they have been directly harmed, so they cannot lay a just claim to what another has.  Therefore, taking from ‘the rich’ to give to ‘the poor’ is theft, and it is wrong — period!

But how did the rich get rich if not by stealing from the poor?  The answer is simple: they worked for it!

When the Lord became the Lord of my life and the way I lived, I changed.  I put away my way of thinking and started to follow His.  That meant working for Him, not me and not others.  I do this by serving others, but I work for Him.  So my reason for working changed.  This helped to motivate me to work harder, longer and with a different attitude.  I took on a servants attitude toward others.  Then I got out of debt.  I also started to look at debt as slavery to another master.  If I owe another, then that person has some control over my life.  I cannot serve both man and God, so I learned to avoid debt.  Then I learned the difference between want and need.  Scripture tells us that we need food and clothing, but nothing more!  Everything else is a ‘want:’ a nice-to-have.  If we have these things, Scripture says we are not poor, not materially, anyway.  Now, by these standards, there are very few of us in America who are poor.  The majority of us can find enough work to eat and clothe ourselves — if we want to do so.  So, if we are on welfare, by Biblical standards, we are rich!  Now, tell me, how did the rich keep such people poor when Scripture says they are actually rich?

This leads us to the truth: the divide between the rich and the poor is actually driven by envy.  ‘The poor’ are actually ‘have lesses’ who are envious of the ‘have mores.’  But the ‘have mores’ did not make the ‘have lesses’ that way.  Human nature does that.  We all want to live like kings off the labor of another.  We want the reward, but we do not want the hard work.  But Scripture tells us wealth does not come from being lazy:

Proverbs 6:6-11

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
    no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.

How long will you lie there, you sluggard?
When will you get up from your sleep?
1A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest—
11 and poverty will come on you like a thief
and scarcity like an armed man.

So, being idle and lazy leads directly to poverty.  Note that there is nothing about ‘the rich’ being the cause of poverty, but the lack of industry on the part of ‘the poor.’  Scripture is so serious about this point as to tell believers to keep there distance from those who refuse to work — even other believers:

2 Thessalonians 3:5-15

Warning Against Idleness

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching[a] you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate. 10 For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”

11 We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. 12 Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat. 13 And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.

14 Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter. Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel ashamed. 15 Yet do not regard them as an enemy, but warn them as you would a fellow believer.

The Bible is very clear: just as God worked and continues to work, we are expected to work.  Scripture is filled with verses commanding us to work.  Scripture also tells us how to grow our wealth.  Do not go into debt.  Save so that you may have something for lean times. and to share with others.  Learn to be content with what you have.  Do not worry about what others have or what you do not have.  And work to improve your lot in life.

Before I learned this, I struggled to pay my bills.  I had constant worry about how I was going to make payments and where I was going to get the money to feed my family.  But now?  Now I am on my fourth year of running my small business without having a single month in the red.  The eleven years before that?  I had as many if not more red months than black.  Now I have money in savings, to cover emergencies and slow sales months.  I have fewer worries, because I have fewer wants and more to cover my needs.  But no ‘rich’ man gave this to me.  It has been given to me because I have given myself over to doing things God’s way instead of mine. And, in addition to the material things, obedience has taught me to focus on and rely on the Lord.  If I do what He wants me to do, He provides.  No, He may not provide for my wants, but He does provide what I need and a little more so that I can share with others.

Now, this is not to say that the rich do not hinder a person from becoming wealthy, because they do.  They use their wealth to corrupt the law and our leaders and to bribe others into doing what they want.  But this does not stop anyone from making their lives better.  At worst, it merely makes it more difficult.  And even then, it is not really the rich who do it, but inequity, injustice and corruption — none of which can exist unless the people allow it!  So, ultimately, what keeps the ‘poor’ in poverty is the greed in their heart and the laziness in their body.  There was a time when this nation understood this, and every man considered himself a ‘rich’ man who had yet to earn his wealth.  Yes, as a nation, we aspired to be prosperous, but we did not begrudge others their success.  Instead, we held them up as an example, and we sought to learn from them.  We certainly did not blame them for our own lack of success.  But that was when this nation still looked to, called on and relied on the Lord.  Then came ‘Progressivism,’ and with it, the Spirit of Esau.  Now, the more we travel down that road, the more corrupt we become; and the more corrupt, the more envious of others.  It is a spiral toward destruction and, unless we turn back to God and to His ways, it will end in just that — destruction!

I am well aware that there will be many who read this and the first thing they will think is ‘Yeah, but!’  There is not ‘but!’  I am living proof that the Lord’s ways work — just as His Word promises.  The trick is in learning what He promises and accepting that instead of what we want Him to deliver.  God does not promises us our wants, only our needs.  But, to those who walk humbly and obediently, He gives many of our wants.  But He also protects us by keeping back the wants that would harm us.  In short, He cares for us exactly as His Word promises.  There is great peace and joy in walking with the Lord, and I pray that, if they don’t already,  all who read this post will come to know this peace and joy.  I know it to be true because I have lived it.  Now I want others to live it, too.  But more than that, I pray that this nation will remember its heritage, and the One Who made it great, so that the nation will live it once again.  Maybe it isn’t too late?  Maybe there is still time to turn back, repent and seek the Lord’s favor once again — the same way our founders did.  And maybe, just maybe, if we do this, the Lord may once again bless our nation — the same way He did for our founders.

Otherwise, if we listen to the lies of those who seek to keep us in their debt and under their control…  Well, death and destruction are all that await us, and they both will find us as certainly as the sun will rise tomorrow.

DEDUCTIVE vs INDUCTIVE NATURAL LAW

From my other blog, The Road to Concord:

DEDUCTIVE vs INDUCTIVE NATURAL LAW

One of the most common objections to the notion of Natural Law I have encountered is the complaint that, if one cannot see the enforcement or consequences of Natural Law then it must not exist.  To put it another way: people see the consequences of breaking a human law, such as theft.  You get caught, you go to jail.  However, if I violate a supposed Natural Law governing the Social Contract, for example, I do not see any consequence.  Therefore, these people argue, since there is no observable consequence for violating the Natural Law governing the Social Contract, there must not be such a thing as the Social Contract.  On the surface, this may seem a rational objection, but it is deeply flawed, and here’s why.

Natural Law includes the laws of physics.  Jump off a cliff without any means of breaking your fall and you will see a consequence for challenging the Natural Laws governing gravity and motion (most notably, the laws concerning differential speed).  Most Natural Laws connected to the material world (i.e. physics) have an immediate consequence.  This makes them deductive laws: you learn them by observing a direct cause-and-effect relationship.  Therefore, very few people challenge them.  But there are other Natural Laws where the consequences are not immediately appreciated.  These laws are usually found in the area of Morality.  This is the area where we usually find people rejecting the existence of Natural Law.  But morality is different.  It deals with human interaction, not physics. So we should not expect it to have immediate consequences.

We are moral agents.  This means we are more than just a collection of matter.  While our bodies may be subject to the Natural Laws governing matter, that part of us which makes us a moral agent is not.  It is subject to the Natural Laws governing morality — universal right and wrong.  These laws are meant to teach us how we should behave toward and treat each other.  Consequently, they are designed to allow us time to learn from our mistakes before the consequences of our actions finally bring about correction.  That is why we do not always see the consequences of violating the Natural Laws governing morality: because they are often delayed for our benefit.  This makes them inductive laws: you learn them by observing an indirect cause-and-effect relationship.

The area of morality includes many things that we may not immediately connect to the notion of universal right and wrong.  For example: economics.  There is a moral aspect to the Natural Laws governing economics.  If a society allows for un-just economic practices, such as socialism, then that society violates the Natural Law governing the moral aspect of economics.  Socialism is built on theft.  It takes from those who have earned and gives to those who have not.  If allowed to grow large enough, or exist long enough, Natural law eventually kicks in and corrects the injustice.  Look to any Socialist economy in history.  It eventually fails — period!  There are no exceptions!  This is indirect evidence of the moral connection between economics and morality, as well as the Natural Laws governing the two.

Now, let’s go back to the Social Contract.  If a society agrees to live by a certain set of laws and moral norms, it is functioning under a Social Contract.  Now, if a minority within that society starts to subvert it by violating those moral norms and by perverting the laws, it has violated the Social Contract.  At this point, that society has the right to defend itself from this minority.  However, if the society does not do so and the minority is allowed to continue its subversive actions, eventually, there will come a point when a majority within that society no longer wishes to live according to the Social Contract which created that society.  At that point, society breaks down into civil war.  It is at that point that we see the consequences of violating the Social Contract: at the point where the Natural Right to self-defense over-rides any commitment to the Social Contract.  We saw this in the American Civil War and we are seeing it repeat today in America where a large ‘Progressive’ minority is pushing a ‘politically correct’ agenda on a small majority.  If this situation continues, we will see the consequences of violating the Social Contract we call the U.S. Constitution.

So, the take-away from this post is that, just because we do not see an immediate consequence for violating the Natural Laws governing morality, we should not take that as ‘proof’ that they do not exist.  What we should do instead is broaden our view of history to look for patterns.  Once we do that, we will notice that history tends to repeat?  Why?  Because there is a Natural Law governing morality.  Those repeating patterns are the consequences for violating this moral law.  They are the ‘proof’ which so many who reject the notion of Natural Law demand, yet do not see (mostly because they refuse to see).

LESSONS IN SCRIPTURE: Trying To Learn From Ananias

I often write in response to personal encounters.  My purpose is not to point fingers at others, but to share what I learn from these encounters.  So it is that I write now in response to yet another encounter with a fellow believer.  It started when I tried to warn this person that God’s Word does not allow us free reign in this world.  He has placed limitations on the things we should and should not do, as well as the types of people with whom we should and should not join ourselves.  However, when I offered Scripture to make my point, I was accused attacked, insulted and my faith and salvation were questioned.  I was immediately reminded of John telling Herod it was unlawful for him to be married to his brother’s wife, but the Lord quickly corrected me.  That was me talking, and I was looking for a way to defend and justify myself.  Had I done so, I would have been guilty of the things I was accused.  Instead, the Lord took me to another passage.  If you’ll let me, I’d like to share what I learned from Ananias and his wife.

[In case you do not know or do not remember the story of Ananias and Sapphira, it starts here and ends here.]

We have every reason to believe that Ananias and Sapphira were saved believers — ‘Christians.’  But, when they sinned, God killed them both.  Why?

Today’s Church has this false idea that, if you claim to love Jesus, ‘love’ others and do ‘good’ deeds (like give to the church and go to Sunday services), this covers all our sins.  What’s more, many believe that, if they meet certain requirements, God is going to make them ‘healthy, wealthy and prosperous.’ But none of this is promised in the Bible: either in the New or Old Testament.  In fact, Jesus tells us that, if we truly love Him, we will meet with opposition and persecution.

But God did not stop with Christ’s verbal warnings.  To make sure that the disciples of His Son would understand that He says what He means and means what He says, He killed Ananias and Sapphira!  He did this to hammer home the point: you are saved by trusting faith, but you are justified by your works, and your works come directly from obedience.  This means, if you are not obeying, you will not yield good fruit; and if you do not yield good fruit, you will be cut from the vine and cast into the fire!

Now, the mere fact that I made what so many believers will consider ‘judgmental’ statements will be — in their eyes — proof that I am the one who does not understand Scripture.  To them, I am taking Scripture out of context.  Many would even tell me that I am being self-righteous and that I do not hear the Holy Spirit.  But how could they say this if they knew and understood God’s Word better than I do?  If they were actually following the Lord, and obeying His commands, wouldn’t they know where those words come from?

James 2:14-26

Faith and Works

14 What use is it, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but he has no works? Can [a]that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, [b]be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? 17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is [c]dead, being by itself.

18 But someone [d]may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.” 19 You believe that [e]God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. 20 But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith was working with his works, and [f]as a result of the works, faith was [g]perfected; 23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 In the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? 26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.

Matthew 7:19

19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

This is what the Lord used my latest encounter to teach me: not that I should point fingers at others, but that I should take His commands as seriously as He does.  The catch here is, one of those commands is to watch over each other and, when we see another brother or sister about to fall into a ditch, to warn them:

Matthew 18:15-17

Correcting Another Believer

15 “If another believer[a] sins against you,[b] go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back. 16 But if you are unsuccessful, take one or two others with you and go back again, so that everything you say may be confirmed by two or three witnesses. 17 If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector.

Scripture also says that, if we do this properly, and with the right heart/motivation, we are doing good:

Galatians 6:1-5

Doing Good to All

Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load.

But notice: there in that last passage is part of what the Lord has taught me from my last encounter.  If we do not watch ourselves (i.e. look to the planks in our own eyes first), we run the risk of going astray, ourselves.

There is a fine line here, but we are commanded to walk it.  If we do not, then we do not have the type of trust/faith in the Lord which leads to obedience, and without obedience, we cannot yield good fruit (deeds).  So, for me, I study the Lord’s Word as though my very soul depends on it — because it does!  I search it, I beg His help in understanding and — as His word says — I nag Him to reveal Himself to me through it.  I know how damaged and depraved I am.  Studying the Lord’s Word has made this painfully clear to me.  This is why I seek His teaching: so that I may learn to obey, and by obeying, I might be found useful to do His work.  Part of doing His work means that, when I find another believer about to fall in a ditch, if I have a Christ-like love for them, I will try to warn them.  If I don’t, then I do not love them, and if I do not love them, I do not Love the Lord; and if I do not love the Lord…

Anyway, this is what the Lord has taught me today.  What has He taught you?

Thank you.]

PRINCIPLES OF SCRIPTURE: God’s People Are NOT To Join With The Lost

This is another of those posts that is difficult to write.  It is difficult to write because it has been prompted by yet another conflict with one of God’s people.  It is also difficult to write because I am being prevented from writing what I want to write.  I feel the Lord’s hand upon me, and it is holding me down while telling me to share what I have learned from this latest conflict with His people.  I would prefer to lecture others, because I am a hypocrite.  But the Lord is infinitely gracious to all of us, even when His blessing comes in the form of a painful rebuke.  So, instead of telling you how and why this other believer was wrong, I am going to share how the Lord took it as an opportunity to hold it up as a mirror to my face.  What follows is not about anyone else.  It is about the reflection I saw in my fight with another believer.

On the surface, this ‘fight’ was over whether or not a Christian should support a certain political candidate.  However, in reality, it was actually over something much more important than that.  The fight between me and this other believer was about whether or not a believer should support or join forces with someone they know (or should know) is not a fellow believer.  God’s Word speaks to this subject over and over again, and His answer is easily discovered, crystal clear in meaning and forceful in its command.  The problem is, we are very good at ignoring God’s Word when it disagrees with our own desires.  It was in the reflection of my own desires that I saw my own guilt over this very same issue.

The first thing I have to tell you is that I learned that I am no one you should count as friend.  This is not my ‘opinion,’ it is The Word of the Lord!  My initial reaction to this other believer was to throw Scripture at them, so I started looking up all the Scriptures I could use as ammunition.  And I am ashamed to admit, I used some of it in reply.  Fortunately, however, I used it after the Lord had showed me my reflection.  I replied because, even though I knew everything I was telling this other believer applied to me,  Scripture still commands us to offer correction when we see other believers going astray and I want to be obedient.  So, when the Lord showed me that everything I was about to hurl at my brother/sister was speaking to and about me, I still offered the Scriptures to them, but in a totally different heart.  I offered it to try to help them avoid the same mistakes the Lord had shown me I have been making my whole life.  Now, let me share the reflection I saw with you.  After I do, you will understand why I am not someone another believer should call a  friend.

The first thing I discovered is that God clearly speaks to His people about staying away from joining themselves to the lost:

2 Corinthians 6:14-15

14 Do not be [a]bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 Or what harmony has Christ with [b]Belial, or [c]what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?

1 Corinthians 5:11

11 But [a]actually, I wrote to you not to associate [b]with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one.

Psalm 26:4-5

I do not sit with [a]deceitful men,
Nor will I go with [b]pretenders.
I hate the assembly of evildoers,
And I will not sit with the wicked.

Why does the Lord tell us not to join with the lost?  Because the lost are of this world, not the Lord:

1 John 2:15-17

Do Not Love the World

15 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17 The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.

And, if you join with the lost, it is not you who will teach them to be a lover of God, but they who will teach you to be a lover of the world:

1 Corinthians 15:33-34

33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” 34 Become sober-minded [a]as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

Proverbs 13:20

20 He who walks with wise men will be wise,
But the companion of fools will suffer harm.

Proverbs 26:24-26

Enemies use their words as a mask.
They hide their evil plans in their hearts.
25 Even though what they say can be charming, don’t believe them.
That’s because seven things God hates fill that person’s heart.
26 Their hatred can be hidden by lies.
But their evil plans will be shown to everyone.

[I found so many scriptures warning God’s people to stay away from the lost, and that joining with them will harm the believer.  I have just shred a few of them, but you can find a list of more Scriptures addressing this subject here, here and here.  A good article on this subject can be found here.]

Now, was this other believer I fought with guilty of going against God’s Word?  Yes!  But that was a speck in their eye, and the Lord made me know it by showing me the forest in my own.  With every verse I read, I saw my own guilt.  How many times have I chased after worldly wisdom, and lent my voice to theirs?  How many times have I turned my back on God’s wisdom in favor of my own?  How many times have a let myself be swayed into doing wrong by ‘friends’ who did not know or even mocked the Lord?  I can’t count them.  All I can do is cry, “Mercy!” because my guilt is before my own eyes.  So be warned, reader: I am not fit for any believer to calla  friend.

However, this does not mean I am unfit to warn others on this subject — far from it.  For, first, it is not I who warns.  I am merely a messenger.  It is God Who warns — as evidenced by His Word.  And what better messenger than one who is not only guilty, but knows he is guilty?  I am Lazarus telling you, my brothers, not to do as I have done.  But, thankfully, I am also forgiven — not because of anything I have done or deserve, for I deserve death.  No, I am forgiven because God is love and He has forgiven my sins out of His Grace and Grace alone.  He will do the same for you, too — if only you accept His Son as your Lord and Savior.  But, understand — all of us — that making the Lord your Lord means obeying His commands, and He has commanded us not to befriend the world.  This does not mean we are not to have an agape love for the lost, because we most certainly are!  It means we are not to join with them as brother and sister, nor are we to give them our support in anything that goes against God and God’s Law.  This applies to personal relationships, business relationships and most certainly to our relationship with our leaders.  Now, let those who have ears to hear, hear…

Thank you.]

LESSONS IN LOGIC: Illegal Immigration: Harry Reid Commits Fallacy Of ‘Begging The Question’

From my other blog, The Road to Concord:

LESSONS IN LOGIC: Illegal Immigration: Harry Reid Commits Fallacy Of ‘Begging The Question’

Logic is part of Natural Law.  It is the universal set of laws governing ‘right reason.’  When we make mistakes in the application of these laws, it is called a fallacy.  Some fallacies are committed so often that they have their own names.  One of these fallacies with a special name is known as ‘begging the question.’  ‘Begging the question’ is an especially seductive fallacy because it often plays to our own bias or arrogance.  If we succumb to it, ‘begging the question’ will not only prevent us from seeing an issue clearly, it can lead us to believe in a falsehood — which makes it even more difficult to see that issue clearly.  Harry Reid made a comment on illegal immigration which provides us with a perfect illustration of how begging the question can prevent us from seeing an issue clearly.

LESSONS IN SCRIPTURE: This Is Why Things Keep Getting Worse

There is no doubt that the fabric of Western society is coming apart.  It doesn’t matter what your personal or political world view is, we all feel it, and we all want to ‘fix’ it.  However, no matter who we elect or what policies we enact, things just keep getting worse.   So, if we know things are bad and getting worse, and we want to ‘fix’ it, why can’t we?  Well, there is no shortage of opinion as to why we can’t fix things, but the answer is simple — and the founders of this nation knew it.  In fact, it is why they succeeded where we are failing.  The answer is…

16123

I have read this passage many times, and heard it repeated many more.  However, I did not understand just how wide-sweeping this statement really is — until just recently, that is.  The truth is, whether a person believes or not, this proclamation governs every aspect of our lives.  If you want to be a principled person, you have to have a moral standard or ideal.  Well, unless that moral ideal is God’s Law, then you creating your own law, and no matter how good you may think it is, your efforts will be in vain.  This is because God is Supreme, and He has already established an ever-lasting moral law.  We cannot change that, and any attempt to do so is kicking against the boards.  It is only when we surrender to God’s Law (either Revealed or Natural) that we can establish a lasting moral ideal.  Then, unless we also accept God’s ordinances as to how to live according to His law, we start our fruitless efforts all over again.  The only principles that last are those which the Lord directs.  This is why so many have such difficult lives: they refuse to let the Lord lead them.

The same applies to nations.  When we look to leaders, or political parties or ideologies to ‘save’ us, we are looking to ourselves.  If we look to ourselves, then God can have no part in whatever we are trying to build.  This condemns us to failure.  Now, God is patient, so it may take time to reveal itself, but the failure will come just as surely as the sun will rise tomorrow.  We need but look to the history of socialism for the proof.  Many have tried, convinced that they are the first who has understood how to ‘do it right.’  But no socialist system has lasted more than 7 or 8 decades (a single lifetime).  The same applies to anything which is built on human effort and not on a reliance on and trust in God.

On the other hand, we have the Christian Church.  Early on, it was hunted by Jew and Roman alike.  For the first few centuries of its existence, those in power sought to exterminate Christianity.  Islam and Secular Humanism in all its many forms are still trying to eradicate it today.  But, in spite of all man’s efforts to do so, those who have clung faithfully to the Lord and His teachings have not only survived, they have changed the world.  This applies equally to God’s second (actually first) witness, the Jews.  The world has tried to rid itself of the Jews since before Christ’s time, yet, because they seek human desires and not the will of God, they have failed and God’s people have flourished.  But then, those who are at war with God cannot see this.

Well, our founders were not at war with God.  In fact, they depended upon Him.  They expressly stated that they sought His blessings on their efforts to build a nation according to His laws.  But then, the world would like to deny this, too.  There’s just one problem with denying this truth, and it lies with one of the founders we are told was among the least religious of all: a deist — at best.  Before I prove that the founders understood they had to let the Lord build this nation, let me remind you of what Psalm 127 says about trying to rely on yourself:

Psalm 127

Prosperity Comes from the Lord.

127 Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city,
The watchman keeps awake in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early,
To [a]retire late,
To eat the bread of [b]painful labors;
For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.

Now, read these words, and see if you can detect the same agreement in sentiment with Psalm 127:

“The longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth: ‘that God governs in the affairs of men.’ And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?”

Do you know who said those words, and when/where he said them?  It was Benjamin Franklin, on the floor of the convention hall during the writing of the U.S. Constitution. You see, Franklin believed in the God of the Bible.  Most of our founders did.  And they also believed that, unless they let the Lord build this new nation, it was as doomed to fail as all the rest before it.  So they trusted in and obeyed the Lord, and the result was the most powerful and prosperous nation the world has ever known.  What’s more, God made us that way in just over a hundred years — a shorter time than any other great nation ever took to become great.  But then, none of that matters today — because we have ‘progressed’ past ‘superstition’ and any need to heed the laws which govern this universe…right?

So, I ask you, how is it that we are going to save ourselves unless we start deferring to the eternal principles which govern this world, and to the Author of those unbreakable laws?
