I don’t know if you believe in God or not, but let’s assume you either don’t believe in Him, or you have serious doubts.  Do me a favor and — just for a moment — assume that God is real.  Just pretend that He exists and that He is omnipotent.  This means that God is ‘perfect.’  At the same time, we know that no human is perfect, so we are going to break God’s laws — we’re going to sin.  Now, if God is perfect, and we are all sinners, then God cannot allow us into His presence.  If He did, He would not be perfect.  This is why those who believe in God say you and I need a Savior: someone to redeem our sins.  Now, assume God loves you.  In fact, assume God is love.  Why would you need a savior if God is love and omnipotent? Couldn’t He just forgive everything you do simply because He loves you?  No, He can’t!  If He did, then He would not be love.  Let me explain (this is important). Many of my most recent posts have contained some harsh words for Glenn Beck.  There was a time, on a different blog site, when many of those who considered themselves my allies would have accused me of being a Glenn Beck sycophant — and they would have had more than a little reason to consider such accusations justified.  I admit it: I used to be in almost total agreement with Beck.  But that was before I started reading my Bible.  Still, I need to thank Beck for that.  Had it not been for him, I may not have done so.  You see, as much as I liked and agreed with him, I couldn’t justify his religion with his words, so I turned to the Bible to find the answer.  What I found has caused me to step back a little from him, and to pray for him even more than I already had. Beck did it again.  Today, he took an incident that happened in Deerborne, Michigan, in which some fifty Muslims spoke out and called ISIS evil and not following the teachings of Muhammad and claimed that this represented ‘true’ Islam.  Let me say this as clearly as I can — as one who has actually read the Qur’an, much of the Hadith, “Guidance for the Traveler (the source of Shari’a law) and the official biography of Muhammad — the five Muslim holy books.  Beck is wrong! This post is written mostly for those who claim to belong to the Lord, and who have a Biblical worldview.  Unfortunately, those who neither follow the Lord’s commands or know His word will likely get very little from this post.  In fact, this post is about those who do not know and follow the Lord’s commands.  This post is about the spirit of antichrist.  But I’ll caution those who think the antichrist is an actual person who will rise up in the end times.  I no longer believe this is what Scripture actually teaches us.  I did something that too few of us do anymore: I actually read God’s word and, when I did, I discovered that it says something very different than what I had been told it said.  That revelation has caused me to look at myself and the things I believe and do very differently.  This is why I am writing this post: that you may be lead to read God’s word for yourself, and — hopefully — will understand it the same way I now do, and that it will cause you to look at yourself anew, as well. Today, Wednesday, September 10; on his radio show; at about the 8:35+ mark, CST: Glenn Beck told the world that, when it comes to Islam, he is a willful idiot.  The reason: he is bowing to the pressure of political correctness.  It’s just that it is under a different form.  In this case, Beck is trying to keep from being seen as someone who condemns all members of a religion.  But make no mistake: however you slice this issue, denying the truth is denying the truth — and Beck is denying the truth.  Here are the specifics. I have been watching Obama grow more and more lawless, and I have been wondering: where id all the ‘real‘ Americans go?  As I watch the events unfolding in this nation, I can’t help but think that we are wasting the worldly sacrifice of our founding fathers as much as we waste the spiritual sacrifice of our Savior.  When I think of our founders — of ‘real’ Americans — I think of men and women who understood that there are things greater than ourselves.  I think of men and women who were so committed to the principles of liberty that they were willing to die for it.  I think of the Greatest Generation — those men and women who fought WW II — and I see they still had that understanding of liberty, and were still willing to sacrifice to preserve it.  But, since about 1948, that understanding and willingness has disappeared.  Today, we may talk of liberty, but we are more concerned with our own comfort than the principle of liberty.  But then, I shouldn’t expect anything less.  Man is a rebellious creature, seeing and worrying only about himself.  That’s our nature.  It is only when we are reborn and God changes us that our nature changes — and even then, it is not we but God who makes the change.  Continue reading “Where did all the ‘Real’ Americans go?” →

Many of my Christian readers will probably have a difficult time with this post. Most Christians — and many non-believers, as well — have been taught that Bible prophecy foretells the coming of a single world leader known as the ‘Anti-Christ.’ This is not true! In fact, the opposite is true: Scripture specifically tells us not to look for such a figure. How this myth came to be is not important at the moment, but the result of the Church having embraced this lie is. Because the Church — the body of Christ — has accepted this myth, it has missed the spirit that Scripture does tell us will multiply and grow in strength as time comes to an end. If you think about it, how could such a single world leader ever rise to power? So long as Christ’s followers remain on earth, they would recognize and oppose him. But he has already come! In fact, many have come, many times — and the majority of the Church has failed to recognize and understand. Even today, as this spirit multiplies and grows in power within our society, our government and the majority of our social institutions — even within the Church — God’s people do not see and understand. Now I ask you: if the Church no longer recognizes the spirit of Anti-Christ, what hope does the rest of this world have? Well, personally, I think it is high time that God’s people go back to His word, read what it actually says and what it means for us today. I would like to wish my fellow countrymen a happy 4th of July, otherwise known as Happy Independence Day! On this day, I want to remind you that America – as it was founded – is an exceptional nation, but not in the way so many think of the term today. It is not that the people of this nation are any better than those of the rest of the world; that is not what I mean by exceptional. It is that the idea behind this nation is the exception to the rule. America is unique in two ways. It is the first nation to be founded on the idea that people can rule themselves, as a self-governing republic. But it is also the second nation to ever be dedicated to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and the first to have willingly committed itself to Him without His direct command. In both respects, the nation our founders created was exceptional, and to the extent that we have strayed from their original principles and ideals, we have suffered the consequences. So, today, as you enjoy the holiday festivities, I would ask you to also spend a few moments reflecting on what our founders told us would happen to our liberty if – as a nation — we were to ever turn from God.

Do you know how Hitler came to power? Do you? Do you really? Do you know that he tried to seize power by force and was thrown in jail? Do you know that it was this experience that taught him that he had to take control through ‘democratic means?’ This is when he started to practice his public speaking: not to convey information and gain support, but to create emotional reactions and manipulate the audience. He used this ability to speak to get elected, and from there, to rise in position of power. Then, after he was at the top, he created a crisis and used it as an excuse to seize the power he had always wanted. Luckily, this could never happen in the United States. There is no way the leader of a violent revolutionary movement – like the Weather Underground – could ever become ‘legitimate’ – like a college professor or leader of reform of the nation’s elementary education curriculum — there is no way such a person could ever get into the inner circles of the White House. Except, such a person has. His name is Bill Ayres. Another such person is named Valerie Jarred, and she controls a third such person by the name of Barack Obama. Yes, I am telling you that the White House is under the control of people who are following Hitler’s playbook for seizing power, and if you understood that playbook, you would see it as clearly as I do. I find it harder and harder to write about political matters these days. As time passes, I find myself being drawn closer to God, and to eternal matters. Chief among these are things concerning right and wrong. I have said it many times, and I will say it again: when it comes to right and wrong, if you are seeing ‘gray,’ it is a sure indication that you are on the wrong side of right. This is because right and wrong are black and white – never gray. It’s just that we never want to accept the consequences that go with doing the right thing. We find it much easier to tell ourselves lies than to face the truth. The ‘leaders’ in this nation know that guns are not the cause of these mass shootings. The average person may believe we have a gun problem, but that is because those in government or who claim to be some sort of ‘social expert’ who know – know – that guns are not the problem lie to them and tell them guns are to blame! It is a lie and these people know it. They have seen the evidence, yet they refuse to tell you about it because they do not care. They want these shooting to happen because they can use it to take your weapons. That is what they want: because it is easier to control a society that cannot fight back. So, the next time you hear someone from the government or claiming to have some sort of sociological or medical ‘expertise’ dealing with gun crimes telling you that we have a ‘gun problem’ in this society, understand that you are listening to a liar!
