CONNECTING THE DOTS: The Origins of the ‘Anti-Christian” Agenda

I was listening to the radio again today and I heard one popular commentator trying to explain the growing anti-Christian agenda in this nation in terms of the American Left’s desire to control the majority.  While there is truth in this assertion, this radio host didn’t explain the context which makes it true.  Instead, he was trying to explain it strictly in material terms.  Sadly, this strips all truth from his statement.  The truth as to why there is a growing anti-Christian agenda in this nation, the real Truth, was explained to us a long time ago.  Whether or not you see past the material aspects of this world is what decides if you see the real Truth, or just its reflection.

First, the Truth is that there is a God, and He lives and reigns from on high (Psalm 47:8).  We will either acknowledge and worship God, or we will worship false gods.  Even if we tell ourselves we worship no god, we worship a false god: ourselves.  The history of mankind is the history of the battle between those who obey God and those who have rebelled.  In this sense, what has happened in human history is just a reflection of this battle: a manifestation of the Spiritual world in this physical world.  Whether or not we see the Truth is determined by whether or not we acknowledge and accept God.  If we do, we see His hand at work in our world.  But if we live in rebellion, then we find other ways to explain away the hand of God in our lives.  But this does not mean that those who rebel ignore God, because they don’t.  They acknowledge Him by their hatred toward Him and His people.  It has been this way since time began:

John 15:18

Disciples’ Relation to the World

18 “If the world hates you, [a]you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.

Matthew 10:22

22 You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

This is the true source of the anti-Christian agenda, as well as the anti-Jewish agenda.  They are driven by the same spirit of rebellion and hatred of God.  This spirit is the source of the continued war between those of this material world and those of God.  This is the Truth.  However, this does not mean we cannot see the results of this battle, or the manifestations of this spirit in the actions of men, because we can.  But here again, we can see and understand them in proper context only if we have spiritual eyes to do so.  So, for those who have eyes and ears, let me share the context this radio host left out of his discussion on the origins of the anti-Christian agenda in America.

It starts by understanding the two primary forces working to replace God on His thrown in the modern world: Islam and Communism.  Islam follows the false prophet (Muhammad), but Secular Humanism follows the man of lawlessness (Marx/Progressivism/etc).  Both seek to remove God from His thrown in that they both seek global domination.  Where they differ is in how they seek to do so.  Islam has replaced God with a false god, while the Secular Humanist replaces God with himself, individually, or as a collective entity.  We can see the effect of Islam and its desire to rule the world, but we are blind to its subversion in our own nation in the same way that we have blinded ourselves to the legacy of Secular Humanism (in this case, Communism and the Progressive movement).

The first thing we have to do to recognize the legacy of Secular Humanism as it exists today is to understand that the thing we call ‘Progressivism is nothing more than the name that American Communists adopted to camouflage their true identity.  Whether we talk of Communism, Progressivism, Socialism or any other Humanist ideology, the modern incarnations all trace themselves back to Hegel.  [From this point on, I assume the reader has at least a familiarity with this aspect of history.  If the reader wishes, you can research this on your own, but for the sake of this post, I am simply mention this aspect of history so as to place the rest of this post in its proper historical context.]

Of all Hegel’s disciples, the two who have proven to have had the greatest effect on human history are Karl Marx and his patron, Engeles.  The modern anti-Christian campaign can trace its roots directly to the Marxist mentality that infiltrated this nation near the end of the 19th Century. When he was asked what his goals in life were, Marx answered “To dethrone God and destroy capitalism.”  Those infiltrators brought this seed of anti-Christianity with them, and today, the cancer they represent has metastasized tot he point where the Christian host (America as it was founded) is now near death.

But it is more than just the Humanist hatred for God that has brought this nation to the point of death.  It is the Humanist’s utter lack of any moral sentiment.  This time, Engeles sums it up best when he said:

“We therefore reject every attempt to impose on us any moral dogma whatever…”

This is the true origin of lawlessness in America.  Our founders were men of principles.  They not only acknowledged God’s laws, they built this nation on them and framed our Constitution to operate according to those laws.  But the Humanist rejects the existence of any moral law.  To them, the ends justifies the means.  To the extent that the Humanist recognizes any moral code at all, that recognition was described best by Lenin:

“We say that our morality is wholly subordinated to the interests of the class struggle of the proletariat.”

However, the ‘interest of the proletariat’ is always what those who have seized control over society say it is, and since those interest change on an almost daily basis, so does this moral code that Lenin mentioned.  This brings us back to the operational imperative that ‘the ends justify the means.’

Now, as to the matter of religion: Humanists see all religion as an enemy to be overthrown.  The Judeo/Christian ethic just happens to be their primary target because it teaches its believers to resist the revolutionary spirit necessary for the advancement of the Humanist agenda.  It also teaches believers to obey God’s laws.  This expression of hostility toward religion — especially Christianity — was best expressed by the Russian Commissar of Education, Anatole Lunarcharsky:

“We hate Christians and Christianity.  Even the best of them must be considered our worst enemies.  Christian love is an obstacle tot he development of the revolution.  Down with love of one’s neighbor!  What we want is hate…Only then will we conquer the universe!”

Now, remember who this man was and what position he held in Lenin’s Russia while you read Lenin’s affirmation of the desire for hate:

“We must hate — hatred is the basis of Communism.  Children must be taught to hate their parents if they are not Communists.”

Now, let me bring this home to today by sharing a few more quotes with you.  This time, we are going to read the words of John Dewey, the ‘Father of the modern American education system’ as well as the man who started kindergarten:

“The Russian educational situation is enough to convert one to the idea that only in a society based upon the cooperative principle can the ideals of educational reformers be adequately carried into operation.”

“There is nothing left worth preserving in the notions of unseen powers, controlling human destiny, to which obedience and worship are due”

“Education is a regulation of the process of coming to share in the social consciousness; and that the adjustment of individual activity on the basis of this social consciousness is the only sure method of social reconstruction.”

“I believe that the community’s duty to education is, therefore, its paramount moral duty. By law and punishment, by social agitation and discussion, society can regulate and form itself in a more or less haphazard and chance way. But through education society can formulate its own purposes, can organize its own means and resources, and thus shape itself with definiteness and economy in the direction in which it wishes to move.”

“I believe that the school is primarily a social institution. Education being a social process, the school is simply that form of community life in which all those agencies are concentrated that will be most effective in bringing the child to share in the inherited resources of the race, and to use his own powers for social ends. I believe that education, therefore, is a process of living and not a preparation for future living.”

“The teacher is engaged not simply in the training of individuals, but in the formation of the proper social life…. In this way, the teacher always is the prophet of the true God and the usherer-in of the true Kingdom of God.”

Dewey visited Revolutionary Russia.  He not only admired the Russian education system, he brought a great deal of it to America.  He also brought back a great deal of the Humanist agenda.  Dewey accepted the idea that man can use ‘science’ to consciously direct human evolution.  He accepted that society — not the individual — defines humanity.  And because he was an ‘educator,’ he naturally saw education as the primary vehicle by which to enact this agenda.  As a result, he set about building into our education system.  It remains with us today. only, today, we call the Humanist legacy in our education system by the name “Common Core.”  But before you think all this a stretch on my part, let me share a few more things Dewey said with you:

“Children who know how to think for themselves spoil the harmony of the collective society which is coming where everyone is interdependent.”

“”The end justifies the means only when the means used are such as actually bring about the desired and desirable end.”

These sentiments still drive the actions of the majority of those people in control of our media, education system and government.  If you consider what they said, and what they said they were seeking to achieve, you will start to understand many of the things they do.  The lost will not understand why any of it is wrong.  They may feel violated or offended, but they will not see the lawlessness in this ideology.  Instead, they will seek to seize some control over it for their own benefit.  But those who have eyes and ears will not only understand the complete rejection of God’s laws in all of this, they will also recognize that it is impossible for men to stay this focused for as long as this ideology has existed.  For you see, it is not new to Hegel.  Hegel was just re-defining Machiavelli, who was a heir to Nimrod, who was heir to the serpent.

What we are seeing in our society is nothing less than the temporary  triumph of evil over righteousness.  All I have done in this post is expose a few of the material manifestations in this world of the Spiritual battle waging in the unseen world all around us.  That battle is drawn along the lines of those who love and obey God and everyone else.  That is the Truth, the whole truth and nothing but the Truth.  I sincerely pray you are among those who see and believe it, for if you do, there is a chance that you are a Child of God.

    1. Greg,

I need to share more of what the Lord has been helping me see. However, for now, it is enough to say that, the more we look at things through His eyes (like all of history is just one long play about His plan to save mankind), the more things start to make sense. No, we may not be able to read the future like a crystal ball, but then, we’re not supposed to. But what it does help us do is understand why the same things happen over and over again. It also helps us see more clearly as to who is on God’s side, and who is not.

      God bless 🙂
