One of the biggest problems I have with those who complain about income inequality is the fallacious way they construct their arguments. They intentionally construct their argument so that their conclusion is the only one the audience can be expected to make (fallacy of confirmation bias) they often try to deceive their audience by equating things that are not equal (fallacy of equivocation); and they never explain the other side of the issue(s), let alone admit to the objections to their arguments. One of the most recent examples of this practice is illustrated in a YouTube video that has been going around the Internet titled “Wealth Inequality in America:” Continue reading “LESSONS IN APPLIED LOGIC: Equivocation, Bias and Omission in the Debate over Income Inequality”
WHY WE NEED PHILOSOPHY
Recently, I have heard several people whom I consider to be thoughtful and well reasoned asset what can only be a dismissal of philosophy. I’ll admit that this bothers me. I understand there are few among us who want to think about the importance of philosophy and the role it plays in our daily lives. Thinking is hard work, so most seek to avoid it as much as possible. But the truth is, without philosophy, we would all be little more than animals: acting and reacting emotionally according to whatever whim or stimulus is acting upon us at any given time. So, when I hear people say they do not let themselves be bound by a philosophy – that they see it only as a ‘guide’ – I have to hope it is because they do not understand what philosophy really is or what it means to them, or to society. THE PATH TO NATIONAL RENEWAL
Christians Need To Live The Politics In Christ’s Gospel Message
Yes, I am asserting that Christ taught a political message – but not in the sense that we think of ‘political’ today. However, before I go any farther, I want to make two things very clear. First, this post is written to and for other Christians. Second, when I say that Christ’s Gospel message was political, I do not mean that Christ was advocating a theocracy. THE PROGRESSIVE LEXICON
Explaining what Janet Napolitano means by ‘the Arc of History’
Recently, during an interview on “Meet the Press,” Janet Napolitano explained her recent change in position on gay marriage by saying ‘the arc of history has clearly arrived:’

DEFENDING THE LANGUAGE [SOCIAL ENGINEERING]
Eliminating a Word does not Eliminate the Problem
As I have explained in “Form and Function” and again in my first post in the “DEFENDING THE LANGUAGE” series, it is not the word we use to discuss something that defines it, it is the nature of a thing that defines that thing. This is why, when the language manipulators told us we could not use the word ‘handicapped’ anymore, that we had to say ‘challenged,’ people did not change the picture in their head of a handicapped person. Children still taunt those with problems, they just use different words. Instead, what actually happened is the language manipulators added an additional euphemism to our lexicon. If you try, I am sure you can think of more than one example of an adult using the term ‘challenged’ to attack or insult someone. So, what was changed by telling people they can’t call people handicapped anymore? Continue reading “DEFENDING THE LANGUAGE [SOCIAL ENGINEERING]”
DEFENDING THE LANGUAGE
The Entitlement Society is the New Slavery
NOTE: A reader on my other blog, The Road to Concord, asked me why I always cite the definitions of the words I use in my posts. I explained to him that, as a matter of sound reasoning, we should always do this: it serves to make sure everyone following the discussion has a better chance of sharing the same understanding of what is meant by the terms used. But I also told the reader that – sadly – I have found it is necessary for nothing more than the simple fact that too few Americans actually know what the words they use actually mean. This got me to thinking that I shouldn’t define fewer words, but more. In fact, I have decided to dedicate an entire series of posts to this subject as it relates to the issues of our day. This is the first in this new series. Continue reading “DEFENDING THE LANGUAGE”
THE MISSING ELEMENT
Why We Continue to Fail in Our Attempts to Arrest the Destruction of America
As I continue to pursue my self-education into the founding of this nation, I grow more and more frustrated with those Americans who profess to embrace and support the principles and ideal upon which this nation was founded, and to which it owes the fact that it has survived for so long. I grow frustrated because the founders were not only clear and assertive in stating and explaining them to us, they were mindful that they were speaking to us. Jefferson actually encouraged the people of the time – especially those who were leaders – to save every scrap of documentation that could be found so as to preserve the most complete record of what they were trying to do for posterity. That posterity is us, and those founders were not only diligent in preserving that history for us, they were successful. What they believed and why is everywhere to be found – if we but bother to look for it. Yet, if we look, we must look to those original sources. We can no longer trust the history books of our day as their authors willingly and deliberately lie. And it is when – and not until – we actually read the history our founders left us that we discover the missing element that has stood in our way of arresting the destruction of our nation. Continue reading “THE MISSING ELEMENT”
HISTORIC REVISIONISM: Hiding The Founders’ Religion In Government
Today, those who wage war against the Christian religion insist that our founders were Deists, that this nation was not founded on the Christian ideal and that the founders deliberately created a secular government. But all of this is a lie! The assertion that this nation was not founded by Christians who designed the governments they created on Christian ideals must be opposed as it is only in the Christian ideal that true security for individual rights and liberty lies. History is very clear on this point: it is not a matter of opinion. As for my part, I have and will continue to write to bring the truth of the historic record to those who seek it, but this post is intended to focus on teaching you where to find the religion of our founders in their governments at the time of ratification. And I start by citing an authority far more qualified to comment on this subject than anyone alive today: Continue reading “HISTORIC REVISIONISM: Hiding The Founders’ Religion In Government”
TRUTH: Scripture Does NOT Condemn Wealth, But It Does Condemn Greed
As I am sure many do this at this time, I have been reflecting on the year that just passed and I found myself thinking about the ‘war on the rich.’ I have been trying harder to read the Bible for myself, and to seek God’s guidance and His wisdom so I can properly understand His word so I can better live it in my daily life. I want to want the things that God wants; the things He wants for me – for each of us. So, naturally, I started to look at what Scripture has to say about wealth. What I discovered Scripture actually says about the issue is far from what the world would have people think it says. TRUTH: The Progressive “Spirit” In Scriptural & Constitutional ‘Interpretation’
I want to be up front with you: this post is primarily intended for fellow Christians. However, as this post deals with a spirit or tendency in all humans, it may well prove as or even more useful for those who do not share my faith. So I offer it to all for whatever they get from it, individually.
I recently had the displeasure of participating in what was – at least for me – a regrettable but necessary discussion about what Scripture says and what it does not, and how we can tell the difference. But the whole time I was having this debate about Scripture, I was thinking how the same person who was debating me would have been saying the exact opposite had the discussion been about the Constitution and original intent. And that is when it struck me: the debate was the same – in spirit. Continue reading “TRUTH: The Progressive “Spirit” In Scriptural & Constitutional ‘Interpretation’”
LESSONS IN LOGIC: You Can ‘Legislate’ Morality
I was thinking about the recent flap over the Phil Robertson flap. I was trying to figure out exactly what is behind it, and I found that I kept coming back to the cliché, “You can’t legislate morality.” So I started to think about what these words really mean; about the idea and intention behind their use. And that reminded me of a book I read by Jonah Goldberg, “The Tyranny of Clichés: How Liberals Cheat in the War of Ideas.” In his book, Goldberg argues that clichés have become a device to shut down discussion and debate, and I happen to agree with him. “You can’t legislate morality” is one of the ways people avoid having to deal with the issue of morality. Continue reading “LESSONS IN LOGIC: You Can ‘Legislate’ Morality”
TRUTH: A Note To Fellow Christians About The Phil Robertson Case
I understand that I am far, far from perfect. In fact, I am a hypocrite and I hate this side of myself. But then, we are all hypocrites. But with that said, I have a word of caution for my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ concerning the Phil Robertson case. TRUTH: Warning To Modern Society In “Sound Of Music” Totally Missed
I have a confession to make: until last night, I had never seen “The Sound of Music.” My wife taped the recent live performance of this musical and I finally agreed to watch it with her last night. I had heard the criticism about the lead not comparing to the original and all the normal complaining that normally circulates around remakes of beloved classics, so I was not sure I should be watching this version as opposed to the original. I went into watching it with this frame of mind. However, as the show progressed, I was soon struck by something more important: people have totally missed the warning in this play! It speaks to us, today, and it demonstrates that the warning from its day is still as relevant today – and no one seems to see it or care. No wonder history is repeating! INSANITY IN THE HEADLINES: The Notion That Poverty Can be Eliminated
Where does this notion come from: the idea that poverty can be eliminated? What form of insanity creates this sort of delusion? And I say insanity because that is the only way to define the belief that such delusions are an achievable reality. They are not. By definition, poverty can never be eliminated, and I will happily explain – nay – prove this to be true. Continue reading “INSANITY IN THE HEADLINES: The Notion That Poverty Can be Eliminated”
AGENDAS: ‘They’ Told You They Plan To Rule You
But You Did Not Listen Because You Did Not Think They Meant It
If you read this blog page for any length of time, you are going to hear me pound this simple message into you: there are people who believe they have a moral duty to force you to live the way they think is best, and they believe they have this duty because they think they are smarter than you. You will also hear me tell you that, if you know where to go and what to listen for, these people will tell you what they plan to do and how they plan to do it. If you go back to the founding of the Progressive movement, you will find this is all connected to Eugenics and the notion of social engineering. When this movement was young, one of its most influential leaders, George Bernard Shaw, flat told us what they plan to do: Continue reading “AGENDAS: ‘They’ Told You They Plan To Rule You”
PROPHECY IN THE HEADLINES: Indications Of The Coming Global Financial Collapse
People have been warning about financial collapse for some time. In fact, I do not remember a time in my life when someone was not trying to gain attention by making some sort of claim about a coming financial catastrophe. If it never seems to happen, people eventually start to ignore those who try to warn them. It is the “Boy who cried wolf” syndrome. Unfortunately, the majority of us are woefully ignorant about financial matters. If we weren’t, we would know that there have been people who have established a very solid record of predicting such things, and some of these same people have been trying to warn us about something the world has never seen for some time now. TRUTH: Part 3 Of A Series On The ‘Culture Of Poverty’
The Many Blessings Of Poverty
In part one and part two of this series, I explained how being ‘poor’ is not only a relative term, it is a mindset that we chose that, if allowed to continue long enough, becomes a way of life. In this post, I will attempt to explain how my own experiences have taught me that poverty can bring many blessings. If you have not read parts one and two, please do so now as they are necessary in order to understand this post. Continue reading “TRUTH: Part 3 Of A Series On The ‘Culture Of Poverty’”
TRUTH: Part 2 Of A Series On The ‘Culture Of Poverty’
Being ‘Poor’ Is A Culture, And As Such, It Is Learned And Passed On To The Next Generation
In part one of this series, I explained how being ‘poor’ is not only a relative term, it is a mindset that we chose. In this post, I will explain how, once we chose to be ‘poor,’ we teach being ‘poor’ to the next generations until it becomes a culture. If you have not read part one, please do so now as it is necessary in order to understand this post.

TRUTH: Part 1 Of A Series On The ‘Culture Of Poverty’
Being ‘Poor’ Is A Choice, and Often A Missed Or Ignored Blessing
I haven’t had much time to post lately because I have been busy in my shop, filling orders for my customers. But this is a blessing. In fact, it is one of many. You see, it was while I was working late into the night to serve my customers that things started to come together for me. I should have realized all of this long, long ago, but I can be a slow learner. In fact, I can be downright stubborn at times. Still, I found an understanding of the battle over poverty that I would like to share with you. However, before I do, I need to warn you: this may not be an easy series for many people to read because what I have to say is going to run counter to what many of us believe. But that’s OK, just so long as you do me a favor. If these next few posts anger you, step back and take a long, hard, honest look at why before you attack me for what I am about to say.
