If we are to be free and self-governing, we have to understand something: liberty is not safety! In fact, a free people will never be a safe people. This is because there will always be people looking to enslave those who are free. Those who seek to rule over others are tyrants — period! There is no “yes, but:” they are tyrants and all tyrants are enemies to liberty, and to mankind in general. Which brings us to another hard fact we need to accept:
ANYONE — and this means ANYONE who appeals to some ‘crisis’ or ’emergency’ as a justification for taking away the rights of free individuals is a tyrant!
There is no excuse or justification for taking away the rights of another individual without due process. The very reason free people form Social Contracts (what we call government) is to protect those rights. But it is an inherent limitation within that contract that one cannot give up or demand that another give up a right that is inherent in their person. In other words, I cannot give up my right to my free will, nor demand you do so as part of the terms of any Social Contract. Any ‘government’ which does this is no government at all, but a tyranny. And all tyranny is at war with free people and humanity in general.
From this statute of Natural Law, it logically follows that no ’emergency’ or ‘crisis’ can change these restrictions. Just because a domestic group goes on a shooting spree, this does not justify the disarming of all other free individuals. In fact, the opposite is true. It strengthens the vert reason for the 2nd Amendment protection of the Natural Right to self-defense — even and especially against a tyrannical government. If you hear someone telling you that “things have changed,” or “weapons have changed,” or “the founders never envisioned modern technology;” or they tell you that “the threat is too great” — anything that they say justifies the taking of your right to self-defense — you are dealing with a tyrant, and all tyrants are enemies to liberty and humanity!
DO NOT BE FOOLED! Such people do not seek to protect you; they seek to conquer you. They are playing on your fears. They are using your fear as a weapon. They intend to use that weapon to get you to voluntarily surrender, usually because they know they could not force you to surrender — especially if you are armed. BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE! Anyone who says they need to take your rights because of an emergency or crisis is looking to be your master — period! I mean anyone, no exceptions!
According to this principle of Natural Law:
Was Lincoln a tyrant? Until he humbled himself and turned to God, yes!
Was Teddy Roosevelt a tyrant? Yes!
Was Woodrow Wilson a tyrant? Yes!
Was FDR a tyrant? Yes!
Is Obama a tyrant? Yes!
Would Hillary and Trump be tyrants? If we take them at their word, yes!
In fact, most Presidents since the Civil War have leaned toward tyranny. But this is because we have become sheep. We no longer claim and defend our rights as being our property. Instead, we cower in fear and seek protection from the very people who want to take our rights so they can rule over us. In short, we are the people Franklin had in mind when he said the words:
“If you prefer security to liberty, you deserve neither and will lose both.”
So, if you love liberty more than life, act like it. Act like an American! But if you love life more than liberty… Well, then I will leave Samuel Adams to condemn you, but I will add that you should never call yourself an American — because you are not!
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.
On the other hand, if you still love liberty more than life, and are willing to defend it, then there is still time to do so without shedding blood. All you have to do when you hear such people seeking to take your rights away is stand up and say no! Be firm, and resolute: do not waver. But be calm, controlled and reasonable. Speak out and others will follow. IN short, be a sheep dog, not a sheep. Protect the flock from the wolves. That is what patriots do. It’s what Americans do. Now which you will be is a choice you have to make, but make no mistake, you have to make it. You cannot sit on the sidelines because that is a choice in itself. You future, your family’s future, this nations future and that of the free world rest on the choices each of us make in the here and now, so chose wisely.
[NOTE: I no longer think of my voice as anything special. There was a time when I believed I had something important to say, but not so much these days. I write now because I feel driven to do so. Something inside me will not let me rest until I post the pages you just read. I’d just as soon not bother anymore. It all seems like no one is listening and I do more harm than good. So I have come to trust that whatever it is driving me has all this under control. Personally, I believe it is God, but others may not.
