If you have been reading anything political on Face Book or the blogosphere, you no doubt have seen the claim that those who are concerned about the changes being forced on their society by Islamic immigrants are ‘xenophobic.’ But are they? Or do the people making these charges hiding something?
: fear and hatred of strangers or foreigners or of anything that is strange or foreign
On the surface, it might seem that the definition fits and that the people making these charges are correct, but surface appearances are often wrong! This is why we must take the time to look deeper, beneath the surface. When we do, we might find that, if there is xenophobia involved here, it is actually with those making the charges of xenophobia.
The first thing we must ask ourselves is do the people opposing the forced immigration of Muslims fear the people, or the effects that come with them? I would hazard to guess that anyone who actually takes the time to look into this matter will find that those who oppose the forced importation of Muslims actually oppose the fact that Islam stands in direct opposition to their way of life — to include their laws. This, then, is not hate or fear, but a natural reaction to what is actually an invasion and attack on their society and government. To call these people xenophobic would be the same as calling Poland xenophobic for reacting to the German invasion in WW II. Or, to put it in terms the accusers might better understand, if Brits or Americans are xenophobic for opposing the Islamic invasion of their countries, then the ‘Palestinians’ are xenophobic for opposing the Israelis!
The simple fact of the matter is that the desire to defend one’s nation, culture and way of life is neither ‘fear’ or ‘hate.’ But to attack those who seek to defend themselves may well be. When a person lashes out at someone defending themselves, their family and their community, we have to consider their motivation. Are they part of the force attacking that community? Are they allied with the force attacking that community? Or do they fear or hate that community, themselves? I would submit that, in the case of forcing Muslim immigrants upon the West, it is the result of a fear or hatred for the Western way of life. It is being done by people who have openly said their goal is to “fundamentally change America.” In this case, that makes the people pointing the fingers the real xenophobes — and that is by definition! In which case, that means it is not a matter of ‘opinion,’ or ‘interpretation,’ but of fact!
So, the next time you encounter the label of ‘xenophobe’ being hurled at someone who opposes the Islamic invasion of their society (and it is an invasion), ask yourself whether the person making that accusation is just an ignorant fool who does not know what the words means, or are they part of the force that actually wants to destroy the West? If they are ignorant, maybe you can educate them. But if they seek to destroy the Western world, then you have found yourself an actual xenophobe (not to mention a justification for those who are opposed to this invasion).
BTW: calling someone a name to silence them is a logical fallacy. It is called Ad Hominem (or Against the Man). Ad Hominem is almost always a sign that the person using it has lost the logical argument and has nothing left to use but brute force. In this case, they are seeking to shame their opponent into shutting up and conceding what is most likely a logical victory.
[NOTE: I no longer think of my voice as anything special. There was a time when I believed I had something important to say, but not so much these days. I write now because I feel driven to do so. Something inside me will not let me rest until I post the pages you just read. I’d just as soon not bother anymore. It all seems like no one is listening and I do more harm than good. So I have come to trust that whatever it is driving me has all this under control. Personally, I believe it is God, but others may not. All I ask is that, if anything I write helps you, or you think it might help others in any way, please, share this page. Re-blog it, share it on FB or send the link to your friends. So long as you feel it will do more good than harm, then please, use this page however you wish. Thank you.]
