They Will Kill You Because they ‘Love’ You

Whether you believe it or not, there is a God.  He is not dead.  He created this world and He reigns from on high.  He also set laws by which His creation is governed.  Whether they be Natural Law or Revealed Law, they are real and they are faithfully enforced.  But God is merciful, so He has designed His laws so that they allow us time to learn from our mistakes while there is still time to correct our hearts.  However, if we refuse to learn or to accept that He is God; if we chose instead to rebel and to reject Him and His Laws, then Scripture says He will give us over to our depravity.  And depravity it is.  How else could a person believe in their heart that they are justified in ruling over the lives of many because they ‘love’ them?  If not depravity, then what do we call it when people come to a point where they believe they love people so much that they must kill them?  And that killing them is for their own good?  Well, there are those who are of this spirit of ‘love’ — ‘love’ that drives them to control and to kill — and many of them are now pushing the world to the edge of the abyss because they refuse to acknowledge and conform to God’s Laws.

The following is quoted from a speech Abraham Lincoln gave after the Civil War.  It is dated, and aimed at specific audiences, but the principles and ideals Lincoln espoused still apply today.  Please, read these words carefully, and with concerted thought:

“The world has never had a good definition of liberty, and the American people, just now, are much in need of one. We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men’s labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name — liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names — liberty and tyranny.

The shepherd drives the wolf from the sheep’s throat, for which the sheep thanks the shepherd as a liberator, while the wolf denounces him for the same act as the destroyer of liberty, especially as the sheep was a black one. Plainly the sheep and the wolf are not agreed upon a definition of the word liberty; and precisely the same difference prevails today among us human creatures, even in the North, and all professing to love liberty. Hence we behold the processes by which thousands are daily passing from under the yoke of bondage, hailed by some as the advance of liberty, and bewailed by others as the destruction of all liberty.”

I have written that there is no way to define Truth or morality without God, and I am not alone in the assertion of this fact.  It is why Voltaire said “If there were no God, it would be necessary to invent Him.”  The reason for this is that human will never agree on what is or is not true, or moral.  The Civil War is just one example of this truth.  Nor can logic and reason determine truth or morality.  They are tools, and as tools, they are neutral: subject to being used toward whatever ends they are applied.  The same principle applies to Lincoln’s words: there is no way to define liberty without God.  Unfortunately, this leads us to then fight over whose idea of god we will obey.  But, if we humble ourselves and pay attention to the world around us, we will find that the One True God has revealed and continues to reveal Himself to us.  We will even find His hand in Lincoln’s words.

Lincoln says that the wolf and the sheep will not agree on the meaning of liberty.  Franklin is said to have used a similar analogy when he said words to the effect of:

“Democracy is two wolves and a lamb deciding what’s for supper; a republic is two wolves and a well armed sheep deciding where to eat.”

But where do you think Lincoln and Franklin got the idea for their analogies?  Who is the sheep and who is the wolf?  If you read Scripture, you will find that Jesus told Peter to “Feed My sheep.”  He also told His disciples to watch for ‘ravenous wolves’ who would come into His flock to destroy it.  But this is only sufficient to suggest that Lincoln and Franklin probably believed in the God of the Bible.  It is not enough to tell us that Yahweh is the One True Living God.  For this, we must keep looking.

Jesus gave us a very clear indication that he is the One True Living God when He told His disciples that vengeance belongs to Him.  After Jesus told His disciples to go preach the Gospel, He then told them that, if the people refuse to accept the Good News of His Gospel, they were not to do anything to them.  Instead, the disciples were to just ‘dust off their feet’ (wash their hands of them) and move on, leaving the people for Christ to deal with on Judgment Day.  Another time, when the Apostles asked if Jesus wanted them to call down fire on someone who opposed them, Jesus stopped them.  Here is a very powerful indication of who is and is not the True God of this world.  Jesus told His followers they were not to try to force people to do anything against their will.  Instead, Christ defended the free will of all — even those who rejected and rebelled against Him.

Now, who do we see fighting to defend the free will of others in our world today, and who do we see fighting to control them?  Muslims are told that people must either accept Allah, or Muslims are to kill them.  Socialists and Communists try to force the people to worship the State, which then tries to govern every aspect of their lives.  The self-appointed masters of Political Correctness try to force people to bow to their wishes or they seek to destroy their reputations and their livelihoods.  Pastors tell their congregations they must either accept the teachings of their churches or they will be damned.  Everywhere we look, we can see the wolves chomping at the sheep, so why is it so hard to distinguish the Hand of the True God from that of His enemies?  Well, many times, it is because those enemies come in the name of peace and act in the name of love — and the sheep do not have a Shepherd to teach them the difference.

There have always been people who claim to be of God, and who use the language of the Lord.  These people will exist until Christ returns and sets things straight — once and for all.  Sadly, the majority of these people honestly believe they are of God.  They believe they are motivated by a sincere love for and desire to help others.  They do not know they do the devil’s work because they do not know God’s Word.  They see only themselves, though they have convinced themselves that their reflection is just and righteous.  They are deluded.  God has given them over to their depravity.  We should be ware of these people, but we should also have pity on them and pray for them.  They are lost and cannot see they are lost because they are also blind.  But we must not be blind.  We must make sure we can see, so that we do not fall in the ditch with these people who destroy in the name of peace and love.  So how do we make sure we see clearly?  Reading God’s Word is one way, but paying attention to what people say and do and then comparing that to the example of Christ is another.

I opened with words from Lincoln, a sheep.  Now I will close with the words of a wolf.  I pray you see and understand the difference.  But I will warn you: if you do not know Scripture and history, you may not ‘see’ the truth revealed in these words:

“We have in Washington a poisonous government that spreads its venom tot he body politic in all corners of the globe.  We now resume…our quest…like David going forth to meet Goliath, like Beowulf the dragon slayer…like Sir Galahad seeking the holy grail.  And modern heroes, dare I mention? Ho and Lenin, Fidel and Nelson Mandela and John Brown, Che Guevara who reminds us, ‘At the risk of seeming ridiculous, let me say that the true revolutionary is guided by a great feeling of love.'”

–Lynn Stewart, National Lawyers Guild Attorney for Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, mastermind of the World Trade Center Bombing in 1993 (and quoting Che).

Now, which is the Hand of the One True God: He who defends the free will of all — even those who reject Him; or those who would kill you in the name of ‘love.’

  1. Now, which is the Hand of the One True God: He who defends the free will of all — even those who reject Him; or those who would kill you in the name of ‘love.’ That’s really great, B. I may have to steal it…..

    1. It’s kind if obvious is it not ? And simple as well.

The free will of all who are following Natural and Revealed law, which precludes killing that is not defense of self and kin.

Or have I misunderstood your comment ?

    1. Well. I SAID I may have misunderstood you up front !

BTW it only works with a hash-tag…..or so I’m told by the Zeitgeist monitors. Thus it should be #HelpMeNow.
