UNDERSTANDING ISLAM: Shari’a Law

In recent days, I have been very harsh on Glenn Beck concerning Islam.  In my opinion, Beck has failed to properly educate himself as to what Islam is and what it teaches.  To the extent Beck has researched Islam, I have been even more critical of him for not being honest with his audience.  Well, it may be that an apology is in order as it seems Beck may have finally started down the path to Truth in regard to Islam.  Unfortunately, it took the establishment of the first official Islamic tribunal being announced in Texas to finally get Beck to start down this path.  Yesterday, 9 February 2015, Beck aired an interview with two of the judges from this Islamic tribunal on his TV program (it is essential you read this story and watch the video, as this post assumes you have done so).  For once, Beck seems to be admitting that the problem is Islam (not individual Muslims, but Islam, itself).  However, Beck still has not gone far enough in helping his audience understand the threat of Islam or Shari’a law.  I hope this post will explain why I feel it is essential that everyone in the West know and understand Shari’a law.

First, you need to understand what the word, Shari’a, means.  It is an Arabic term and roughly translates as ‘the way.’  Spiritually, ‘the way’ is a term we find in the Bible where it is used to describe the path of Godly righteousness.  Christ’s first followers were originally referred to as followers of “The Way,” but the term is also found in the Old Testament, or Tanakh.   Christ represents the perfect example of this “Way” as he is the physical embodiment of “The Way” (of God and God’s law).  Muhammad, guided by the being that called himself the angel Gabriel, perverted this concept to his purposes.  I say perverted because Muhammad only copied the language of “The Way” in the Bible.  Conceptually, the meanings and principles behind the Islamic way, or Shari’a, are the negation of those principles found in the Bible, especially the New Testament and Christ’s Gospel.  Thus, Muhammad imitated God’s Word to deceive his followers into accepting Shari’a, the negation of God’s Word.  While this may not seem important — especially to those who do not concern themselves with matters of faith or religion — the differences between God’s Way and Sharia hold the future for all humanity in the balance.

“The Way” in the Bible would have us follow Christ as our example, and to live according to the teachings of Christ’s Gospel.  Our founders built this nation upon these principles, and they advocated them as the foundation for any society that hopes to be and remain free and self-governing:

“From the day of the Declaration…they (the American people) were bound by the laws of God, which they all, and by the laws of The Gospel, which they nearly all, acknowledge as the rules of their conduct.”

–John Quincy Adams

“As to Jesus of Nazareth … I think the system of Morals and his Religion, as he left them to us, the best the World ever saw or is likely to see;…”

–Benjamin Franklin

“I concur with the author in considering the moral precepts of Jesus as more pure, correct, and sublime than those of ancient philosophers.”

–Thomas Jefferson, (Source: Thomas Jefferson, The Writings of Thomas Jefferson, Albert Bergh, editor (Washington, D. C.: Thomas Jefferson Memorial Assoc., 1904), Vol. X, pp. 376-377. In a letter to Edward Dowse on April 19, 1803.)

“The moral principles and precepts contained in the Scripture ought to form the basis of all our civil constitutions and laws. All the miseries and evil men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery, and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible.”

–Noah Webster, 1833

I could go on, but I see no reason to cite any more of our founders.  Either these are sufficient to make my point in your mind, or no amount of proof will change your mind: it has already been decided to the contrary of the historic record (and reality).  The point — in so far as Western Civilization is concerned — is that it was built upon the ideals and principles of Christ’s Gospel, the original “Way.”  Shari’a would change all that.

Shari’a is based upon the sayings and traditions of Muhammad.  There are commands in the Qur’an, but the majority of them cannot be understood outside the events of Muhammad’s life.  Much of the Qur’an addresses these events after the fact.  For example: it is recorded — by Islam — that Muhammad came upon his adopted son’s wife while she was in her private residence and found her desirable.  Shortly after, Muhammad declared that Allah had declared it was permissible for Muhammad to have whoever he desired and that Allah commanded his adopted son to divorce his wife so Muhammad could have her.  The passages in the Qur’an concerning this incident would be taken totally out of context were they not read next to this event.  This is why Islam relies heavily on the Sunnah, or the collection of Hadith (sayings and practices of Muhammad).  Just as the Gospel provides Christians with their example of how to follow Christ, the Hadith is what provides Muslims with their example of ‘the way.’  It is here that the truly evil side of Islam hides from the majority of the Western world.

The Qur’an commands Muslims to obey Muhammad.  In fact, according to the Qur’an, obeying Muhammad is obeying Allah, and disobeying Muhammad is disobeying Allah:

Qur’an 4:80 “He who obeys the Messenger obeys Allah.”

Qur’an 48:10 “Verily those who swear allegiance to you (Muhammad), indeed swear their allegiance to Allah.”

Bukhari:V9B92N384 (from the Hadith) “Allah’s Apostle said, ‘Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me will not enter it.'”

Bukhari:V4B52N203  (from the Hadith) “I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, ‘He who obeys me, obeys Allah, and he who disobeys me, disobeys Allah. He who obeys the chief, obeys me, and he who disobeys the chief, disobeys me.'”

Qur’an 4:65 “They can have no Faith, until they make you (Muhammad) judge in all disputes, and find in their souls no resistance against Your decisions, accepting them with complete submission.”

Qur’an 33:36 “No Muslim has any choice after Allah and His Apostle have decided a matter.”

Once again, the first thing that strikes a Christian is that this imitates the Father and Son aspect of the Trinity: whereas the Father and Son are one-in-the-same, both God.  But Islam denies the Trinity and the Divinity of Christ (thus negating the Gospel).  Thus, Muhammad places himself equal to but separate from Allah.  There is much more to this, but for the matter at hand, the important part is these and other passages establish that Muhammad is to be obeyed — period.  This creates the platform for Shari’a law in that it commands that the way Muhammad lived is the perfect model for all Muslims:

Qur’an 33:21 “You have indeed a noble paradigm in the Apostle of Allah.” [A second translation reads:] “You have in (Muhammad) the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern of conduct for anyone to follow.” [A third reads:] “Verily in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example for him who looks unto Allah and the Last Day.” [A fourth reads:] “Certainly you have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent prototype.” [A fifth says:] “You have indeed a noble paradigm [archetype, exemplar, standard, model, or pattern] to follow in Allah’s Apostle.”

BukhariV7B63N1891 (from the Hadith) “Indeed in the Apostle of Allah you have a good example to follow.”

Ishaq:467 (from the Hadith)  “Allah addressed the believers and said, ‘In Allah’s Apostle you have a fine example for anyone who hopes to be in the place where Allah is.'”

It is from these and many similar commands that Islam derives Shari’a law.  The West must understand that Muhammad commanded obedience to himself.  Remember, obeying Allah and Muhammad are on-in-the-same.  This is a “settled” matter of Shari’a and no Muslim can contend with it.  After Muhammad issued a command, that command must stand forever.  There can be no ‘reformation.’  This is another “settled” matter of Shari’a law:

Bukhari:V9B88N174 (from the Hadith) “I heard the Prophet saying, ‘Islam cannot change!'”

But then, this Hadith only re-enforces the Qur’an when it says that, once Muhammad and Allah settle a matter, it remains settled.  This means that Islam cannot be reformed.  This means that all Muslims are commanded to wage war against the world until there is only Islam.  This is Shari’a law: the total rule of the world according to the laws of Allah.  That is part of Shari’a because it was commanded by Allah through Muhammad.

All of this is antithetical to the principles and values of Western Civilization, but then, Shari’a does not recognize those principles and values.  In fact, Islam considers Western values to be an attack on Islam, thereby justifying Jihad.  According to Islam, because Western values are an attack on Islam, any retaliation by Muslims is defensive.  This justifies Jihad as it makes what the West calls ‘terrorism’ into a defensive war!  The West must understand this.  To allow Shari’a to be established in a Western society is to allow the enemy to establish a stronghold within the city walls.  It is cultural suicide.  Islam and Shari’a are one: they cannot be separated.  Already the inevitable result can be seen in England and other parts of Europe where the national governments have lost control of large parts of their country.  If America does not see, recognize and admit to this threat, it will be next.

[INCIDENTALLY: when you watch the video in the story I linked to from Beck, and when you listen to any Muslim talking about Islam and Shari’a, please remember that Muhammad allowed Muslims to lie whenever they feel it is in the best interests of Islam.  This is also part of Shari’a: the principle that Muslims can lie to further and/or protect Islam or other Muslims.]

  1. It may be that a Pat on the Back is in Order to Beck.
But an apology I’m not so sure. Because as a national figure with both the money and staff to research and discern the truth, Beck is long overdue on the crucial fight of our time ( which would be simply stated….Liberty versus Tyranny ). And islam’s part in that fight.

Further, as a person who prides himself on highlighting the “spiritual” element inherent in this fight, he rather curiously left out islam’s dearth of spiritually unity with others of faith.

The mechanism of that “omission” on Beck’s part is of course the equivalence that Progressives have constructed over time between allah and God.

    1. DonAmeche,

I believe you are one of the few who will recognize that I am aware of everything you just said (mostly because I have said it before and you will grant me my own assertions 🙂 ). So, please, count this post as me being as merciful toward Beck on this issue as I can be.

Also, consider this: if Beck continues down this path too far, he is going to be forced to confront his own religion. Now, he may not be capable of being that intellectually honest with himself, but he will have to face the similarities between his religion and Islam. If we look at Mormons and Muslims from a spiritual perspective, they are of the same cloth (like Democrat and Republican Progressives: different, but the same). So, please, grant that I am trying to be as kind as I can here. OK? 😉

  2. Excellently Presented !! And needed.

To muslims the world is divided into a geo-political duality defined by islam.

the *Dar al islam* ….. House (or place) of submission. Versus :
the *Dar al Harb* ……House (or place) of War…. ( this has also become a term for “the West” to muslims.
