As you might have deduced from the title, this is going to be a contentious post. But there’s no getting around it: this is exactly what Alabama State Rep. Alvin Holms (D) actually said – only I don’t think he realized it. So, let’s just get to it. Here is the story:
“Justice Clarence Thomas on the United States Supreme Court is an Uncle Tom,” Holmes said when asked if he stands by his comments. “A black man allow himself to be used to carry the message of a white man, which is against the interest of black people in America, in my opinion that is an Uncle Tom.”
Holmes then reiterated that Thomas is indeed a “very prolific Uncle Tom.”
OK, now before you dismiss me because you think this story is about Justice Thomas – STOP! Because it is not about Thomas, it is about racism, period! Now, let me explain how and why this is true.
What if Holms were white and had said the following about…oh, say, Justice Roberts, who was instrumental in declaring Obamacare ‘constitutional:’
“A white man allow himself to be used to carry the message of a black man, which is against the interest of white people in America, in my opinion that is an N-lover.”
Now, had Holms been white and had he said these words, would you think Holms is a racist? If you are honest with yourself, you know you would – and so would the media. But we have been told that blacks can’t be racist. Well, that is a lie.
First, it is part of the definition of racism that something be ascribed to someone simply because of the color of their skin. So, if an agenda is said to have a ‘race’ (i.e. skin color), then that shows a racist mindset in the person making that assertion. In this case, Rep Holms is demonstrating that he thinks in terms of race and, therefore, has a racist mindset. Even more so, when this mindset is part of the establishment – as in, part of the government – that is even more indicative of racism. Well, Holms is a member of the government, which further cements the notion that Holms possesses a racist mindset. Finally, when official policy is driven by racial motivations, as in “the message of a white man,” then this is all the more indication that racism is in play. Apparently, Holms thinks that what is best for blacks and whites is different, and that government should be used to promote one over the other – much like Apartheid. Therefore, let’s just assume that Holms has sufficiently identified himself as possessing a racist mindset.
Now, let’s carry this forward. If Obama is not an Uncle Thom, and we have no reason to believe he is because no one in the black community has been quoted saying that (yet), then we can assume – per Holms’ own words – that this means Obama is pursuing a black agenda over that of a white or even American agenda [BTW: Obama has actually said he is pursuing what can be called a ‘bl;ack agenda’ on several occasions, you just need to know where to look to find the audio tapes]. That means – by logical extension – that Obama is pursuing a racist agenda – per Holms’ own definition. What’s more, so far, Obama has had no real setbacks to his agenda, which would then mean Obama is a very prolific racist.
Keep in mind: this would be exactly in line with what Holms said about Justice Thomas – IF Obama were white and pursuing a “white man’s agenda.” The only thing that keeps people from seeing this for what it is – racism – is the color of Obama’s skin. Which might give you a little hint as to why Biden was so excited to finally have a “clean, articulate black man” pushing his Marxist agenda: because it makes him bullet proof against any and all attacks.
Now, the point here is not to cause more racial division, but to get people of all races to start looking at this with clear eyes. This nation has been torn apart by its past: a past that has been deliberately tainted to skew reality. Yes, we had slavery, but we did not have it in every State, and the same nation also fought to end it. No one else invaded to right our wrong: we did it ourselves – twice. Don’t forget, Americans pushed through the Civil Rights movement. So, we must not allow lies to make us think the remedy for the past is more wrong – only in the opposite direction. To claim oppressing whites today makes up for the wrongs of yesterday is just an excuse for black on white racism – nothing more. Only, this time, the crime is double upon those doing it because they not only should know better; they are doing it out of vengeance against innocent people. In many cases, against the very people who fought to end the whole mess all together.
HOWEVER, rather than look for division, we should purge our nation of people such as Rep. Holms. He has no more place in our government than a what bigot. If the issue is bigotry, then fight that, not am entire race. Personally, I find great hope and inspiration in stories such as this one, because they show a positive example of how things should be based on principle and not skin color:
Black pastors group calls for Eric Holder impeachment over gay marriage
Go ahead, call these men of God ‘Uncle Thoms,’ I dare you; because you won’t be them to whom you’ll be answering when you stand before the Lord…
