Have you ever seen the television series, “House?” Now, have you ever heard older folks say that society has gotten worse than it was when they were kids? And did you hear anyone respond by saying that things are actually the same as they ever were, it only seems like they are worse? Well, the television series. “House,” is proof that things have gotten worse than they used to be, and that those who say it isn’t true do not understand what they are saying. This is especially true for those under the age of forty. If you are under forty, you may not be able to see it. But, if they are honest, those who are over forty will tell you that things have gotten much worse. In fact, those of us over forty have seen moral decay ‘progressively’ overtake this nation until, in less than a generation’s time, we have gone from “Little House on the Prairie” to “House.” If you doubt me, allow me to explain.
In the series, “House,” you will see drug abuse glorified; partial nudity; teen-aged sex; promiscuity; adultery; wanton disregard for the law; the justification of murder in the name of ‘mercy;’ and the questioning and even open mocking of God. At one time, all of these things were either illegal or voluntarily banned from public broadcasting — especially on prime time television. But, since “House” went off the air in 2012, things have not gotten better, they have gotten even worse. We now have shows on our television glorifying meth pushers; swingers; adultery and promiscuity and more. The number one show on television — NCIS — even justifies total disregard for the law and U.S. Constitution. When I was growing up, none of this — none of it — would have been allowed on television. If you doubt me, find and watch reruns of what was a controversial show at the time, “Miami Vice.” Compare them to today and you will see that I am telling the truth.
So we can see evidence of our moral decay in just one television show. But we can also find it in the commercials we see. A generation ago, it was illegal to show commercials for women’s underwear, or for condoms. Pornography magazines were kept covered behind the counter, now hard-core porn is nearly impossible to avoid. Spend enough time on the internet and it will find its way onto your screen. And there’s more. The song lyrics on our radios would have been banned when I was a kid, as would most of the content on what passes for situational comedy today. The truth is, we have become a sexually decadent, bordering on perverse society. But then, if we still bothered to teach it, we might remember that Aldous Huxley warned us this would happen in his book, “Brave New World.”
We have other examples of the moral decay every week. This past week, we had a U.S. Senator boasting that he lied about a Presidential candidate’s taxes. When asked about it, he didn’t express any remorse. Instead, he actually justified it by saying that the Presidential candidate didn’t win. To this Senator, the ends justify the means. If we still taught history, maybe we would realize that President Nixon was not impeached for anything he actually did, but for a lie he told. If you do not see how far we have slid into the abyss in this case, keep reading.
A few weeks ago, we had a case about a pizza shop that was set up by a reporter. The reporter knew the shop was owned by Christians, so she asked them if they would cater a gay wedding. When the shop said no, it was immediately attacked by people who claim they are tolerant. The shop owners even received death threats, and a public school teacher publicly called for people to help her burn the pizza shop to the ground. Nothing was done to any of these people. Instead, the pizza shop owners were treated as though they had done something wrong. For the record: the pizza shop owners did nothing wrong. they were exercising their First Amendment rights. The people who set them up, threatened to kill them, burn down their shop and defame their character all broke the law. If for nothing else, for violating and seeking to deny the owner’s freedom of conscience. Had this happened when I was young, all those people who did this to the pizza shop would likely have been charged, tried, convicted and jailed, but today — nothing.
I have written many times about how strongly our founders stressed the need for morality if this nation wanted to remain free and self-governing. A common sense of morality is the glue that binds a society together. If it is undermined, the society will decay and die. But this is exactly what has happened to America, and it is being done deliberately by people who think, if they can succeed in destroying America as founded, they will then be free to re-make it according to their heart’s desires. Well, this is what happened to Israel shortly before God destroyed it and sent His people into exile for more than 2,600 years. It is why the prophet wrote:

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who [a]substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who [b]substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes
And clever in their own sight!
But more than this, Jesus had harsh words for the type of people we have become — especially those who claim to be our leaders. The following passage is lengthy, but important. As you read it, ask yourself how many of our politicians, lawyers, judges, teachers and other government and institutional leaders match the description Jesus is condemning. How many of them will pass harsh laws, but exempt themselves from those laws? How many will say one thing, but then do another. How many will trample someone to be first in front of the camera? How many will do things they should not do to be seen as doing good — then not actually do that good? How many are the modern day equivalent of the people Jesus is condemning in this passage?

When a society is as far gone as we are, there is little chance of saving it. Either we will recognize that God has been warning is and we will turn back to Him and repent, or He will destroy us. it is that simple. I pray that we will turn and repent, but I do not believe there are enough left in this nation who fear God enough to make the difference. So, short of an act of God, I expect this nation to fall, and with our leaders openly inviting ISIS to come in to our country, set up camp and train to attack us without saying a word, I expect America to fall in the very near future. When it does, I will be among those who can remember what America was like at the height of its glory and power in the 1960-80, and I will see what it is like in its ruin.
My heart breaks to know that we have come to the point where this future is all but certain…

The evil will solidify in June when the U.S. Supreme Court makes same sex marriage legal in all 50 states. Perversion will become a protected right under the U.S. constitution.
We are fully back in the days of Noah and Sodom. Even worse because we know better and refuse to do right.
Except for the Golf Channel TV is a tool of Satan. Whether entertainment, news or sports it has become as a filthy rag (biblical definition intended).
Sadly, as a nation, we will not repent. It will continue to degenerate even faster until the wrath of God begins.

Have you read Rabbi Chan’s book on the Schmitah? It is part of the Harbinger, and the repeat of the prophecy found in Isaiah 9 (?).
Otherwise, yes, it is as in the days of Noe (Noah). We are living under the condemnation of Isaiah 5:20-21 and Christ in Matthew 23. He will not allow much more of this. He can’t, else we will destroy ourselves — all of humanity, that is.
But then, there is a strong hint of nuclear war in the minor prophets, so…

“It’s a Wonderful Life” has so much meaning for me because it is like a shadow of some of the things I experienced first hand while growing up.
Not verbatim by any means. But the sense of community, neighbors walking up freely to each other’s house….unlocked doors. The Neighbors keeping an eye on everyone’s kids… ( which could work against you during mischief time.. ;- )) )….. I remember singing carols at our house and others’ with four generations present ( and not everyone was even Christian … there was just a Community).
And underlying it all was a sense of what was decent and acceptable and what wasn’t. It was definitely NOT a perfect world. But one livable and a certain sense of purpose.
Precisely and exactly! No one is claiming the past was perfect, but it was definitely better. No one who can remember that will argue it — not if they are honest. Heck, I even miss the times when chatting with friends was face-to-face because there were no cell phones…
Truth. What you have written has the veracity of the Writing on the Wall, but unfortunately will fall on deaf ears. When a scumbag is elected president by voters who decide that voting for someone merely because of the color of their skin, or because of their gender, while completely ignoring what said candidate actually stands for, the republic is doomed. It is no longer a question of “if”, but rather WHEN the collapse will happen. We had a decent run, but when the numbers of the mobocracy rise above the 50% threshold, a republic cannot vote itself.back to the morale principles on which it was originally founded. When a population has enough uneducated, envious thieves who cannot see the inherent immorality in double taxation, and believes the purpose of government is to steal from the producers to buy the votes of the parasites, then economic collapse is assured.

I wish I could disagree with you…but I cannot. This is why I have started to tell people (those who will listen, anyway) that ‘we’ cannot ‘fix’ our problems. Unless God takes over, this nation is doomed. And for those who believe in God, and who know His signs of impending judgment on the nation, the writing is — in deed — ON THE WALL!
