For years, I have been trying to show people that we — modern America — are following a parallel path to that traveled by the Germans in the 1930’s. And for years, people have attacked me for trying to warn them about the path we are traveling. I do not blame them: it is very difficult to see history unfolding in our own times. But for those of us who have studied history — and more so for those who have learned to see history through the lens of Scripture — the signs are as clear as the noses on our faces. So, if we see the danger coming, what would you rather we do: remain silent and allow you to be comfortable in your ignorance until you perish, or warn you in spite of the backlash we know you will aim at us? Well, I know what Scripture tells me about the watchman who sees danger coming and does not sound the warning, and I will not have another’s blood on my hands. So I am trying to warn those who will listen so that I will be held blameless for the blood of those who will not. It is for this reason — to warn you — that I tell you the spirit of NAZI Germany now rules our land!
I have detailed the parallels before, and you can search the archives of this site to find those posts. Rather than repeat that laborious and boring list of similarities, I would ask you to consider that my warning is nothing new. Many men have tried to warn us of what we were becoming:
by Smedly Butler (at the time of his death, the most decorated American soldier in history, including 2 Congressional Medals of Honor)
Today, it is not just the American Right warning of the rise in the militarization of America’s police, it is also the Left. From Salon.com:
Sadly, we waited too long to do anything about this growing evil. The government now monitors everything you say and do, and if you have a smart TV, it is even watching you — just like in Orwell’s book, “1984.” All this data is stored and — eventually — can be accessed if and when they need to use it against you. If the Gestapo had had this ability to know everything about everyone, there would not be a Jew alive in Germany today. But we’re lucky. This is America, and things like that do not happen here. I am just getting all worked up about nothing. There is no such thing as an unaccountable police force in America where you can be made to ‘disappear:’
Well, at least the media told us about this so the ‘authorities’ can do something about it — right? WRONG! This story was broken by a foreign news site. America’s ‘main stream media’ is government controlled, which is why you do not hear them talking about this. And now that they have illegally seized control of the Internet, it will not be long before you will never hear about these sort of things happening in America. Once they control all media, and through that control, our voices, that is when people such as myself will start being ‘disappeared,’ just like Obama’s friends said they would do to us:
Luckily I am just over-reacting. No one would ever round up Americans who disagree with the government:
OK, well, that was just the Japanese during WW II. No one else ever suppressed dissent with violence:
Wilson harshly suppressed dissent and resistance among citizens and the press.
At Wilson’s urging, a Sedition Act (not unlike the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798 ) forbade Americans from criticizing their own government in a time of war. Citizens could not “utter, print, write or publish any disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language” about the government or the military. The Postmaster General was given the authority to revoke the mailing privileges of those who disobeyed. About 75 periodicals were were shut down by the government in this way and many others were given warnings.
In the fashion of a police state, the Department of Justice arrested tens of thousands of individuals without just cause. One was not safe even within the walls of one’s own home to criticize the Wilson administration. A letter to federal attorneys and marshals said that citizens had nothing to fear as long as they “Obey the law; keep your mouth shut.” In fact, the Justice Department created the precursor to the Gestapo called the American Protective League. Its job was to spy on fellow citizens and turn in “seditious” persons or draft dodgers. In September of 1918 in NYC, the APL rounded up about 50,000 people. This doesn’t even include the infamous Palmer Raids (named after Wilson’s attorney general) that occurred after the war.
In 1915, in his address to Congress, Wilson declared, “The gravest threats against our national peace and safety have been uttered within our own borders. There are citizens of the United States, I blush to admit, born under other flags…who have poured the poison of disloyalty into the very arteries of our national life; who have sought to bring the authority and good name of our Government into contempt, to destroy our industries wherever they thought it effective for their vindictive purposes….”
All in all it is estimated that about 175,000 Americans were arrested for failing to demonstrate their patriotism in one way or another.
OK, OK, but nothing like this is still happening today. It is not like we still keep people in camps:
Are you getting the picture yet? Don’t tell me it can’t happen here, because it has and it is still happening here! And if we do not start acting to defend our neighbor and our neighbor’s rights, then it will happen to all of us — sooner or later. And no, I am not calling for violence. I am telling you to stop voting for anyone with a D or an R after their name, to stop voting for people who promise to give you something that is not yours, or you did not earn; and to stop voting for people who promise to force others to live the way you think they should live. So long as any of us is still voting that way, and still supporting those type of people, we might as well be Germans looking the other way as the wind carries the smell and ashes of the furnaces over our farms and villages.
