Did you know that this is not a perversion of Islam? Muhammad authorized all of this. Let me show you the proof.
First, Muhammad commanded that Muslims must slaughter before they can take captives. It is in both the Qur’an and the Hadith:
Qur’an:8:67 “It is not fitting for any prophet to have prisoners until he has made a great slaughter in the land.”
Ishaq:327 “Allah said, ‘A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.'”
Muhammad also made it lawful for Muslim fighters to take ‘booty.’ ‘Booty’ includes those people Muslim fighters capture after they slaughter:
Qur’an 8:69 “So enjoy what you took as booty; the spoils are lawful and good.”
Ishaq:510 “We ask Thee for the booty of this town and its people. Forward in the name of Allah.’ He used to say this of every town he raided.”
Tabari VII:65 “Allah’s Messenger came back to Medina, bringing with him the booty which had been taken from the polytheists…. There were forty-four captives in the Messenger of Allah’s possession. There was a similar number of dead.”
Muhammad also made no secret of the fact that ‘booty’ was made lawful to entice people to convert, and to reward Muslims for spreading Islam through Jihad:
Bukhari:V4B53N373 “Allah’s Apostle got property and war prisoners and gave them to some people to the exclusion of others. The latter seemed to be displeased by that. The Prophet said, ‘I give to some people, lest they should deviate from Islam or lose patience.'”
Ishaq:327 “Allah made booty lawful and good. He used it to incite the Muslims to unity of purpose. So enjoy what you have captured.”
Ishaq:594 “The Apostle gave gifts to those whose hearts were to be won over, notably the chiefs of the army, to win them and through them the people.”
Muhammad said women are property, and that they exist so that Muslim men can enjoy their bodies:
Tabari IX:113 “Allah permits you to shut them in separate rooms and to beat them, but not severely. If they abstain, they have the right to food and clothing. Treat women well for they are like domestic animals and they possess nothing themselves. Allah has made the enjoyment of their bodies lawful in his Qur’an.”
Now, in Muhammad’s defense, he did tell Muslim men not to force the slave girls they possess into prostitution. However, he then said, if they do force their slave girls into prostitution… Well, Allah often forgives:
Qur’an 24:34 “Force not your slave-girls to whoredom (prostitution) if they desire chastity, that you may seek enjoyment of this life. But if anyone forces them, then after such compulsion, Allah is oft-forgiving.”
There is more, but then, if this is not enough to convince you, what will? The simple truth here is this:
Muhammad said that, before you can take those slaves, you must first slaughter.
Muhammad said, after you slaughter, it is legal to take slaves, and to do with them as you wish.
Muhammad said that women are property, and that there is no blame in enjoying their bodies. Allah gives booty for the enjoyment of those who take it.
Muhammad did say you should not force your slave girl into prostitution, but if you do, Allah often forgives.
So the Muslims selling these girls into slavery and prostitution are doing what Muhammad made legal. They are practicing Islam as Muhammad practiced it. This is not a ‘perversion’ of Islam: it is Islam as Muhammad defined it. This means these Muslims are not radicals. They are Muslims as Muhammad defined Muslims — period!
